thanks for this explanation- I shared it over in the Reo forum- folks are hesitant, because they are "scared" of using their one and only comment to ask for an extension, and because this direction did not come directly from CASAA in the form of a Call to Action.

Reasonable concern - understand - the Call to Action is a blunt instrument. This direction is from SFATA, not from CASAA. I still reccomend people save their content rich comments for the CASAA call to action. If anything, this gives you a practice run - an opportunity to go to the website and go through the process and see the required fields, etc. As many of you have seen, now, submitting a comment is easy.

Save the content rich comments - get the extension and buy the hitters some time to gather the needed research and documentation. A template will be forthcoming.

Thank you all for riding - we're in it to win it.

Oh and I hope you don't mind if I posted your well written e-mail on a couple other forums that are not necessarily vaper forums but have vape threads.

Thank you Misty! <3 By all means, spread the word - just make sure that they understand this is only a request for an extension - save the content rich comments for the CASAA call to action with should be forthcoming!

Done, with some additions:

"A 75 day comment period is insufficient time for the e-cigarette industry and the wider e-cigarette community to comment on the proposed deeming regulations. As an e-cigarette user and ex-smoker who does most of my shopping with small businesses and is extremely concerned about the effects this regulation would have on them, I would respectfully request that the period for comment be extended to 180 days. I worry that the product registration requirements will be burdensome enough to push small vendors out of business and hand the e-cigarette industry over to big tobacco, as they may be the only ones with the funding and preparation to accommodate this type of regulation."

Done...

Heya Elizabeth - been tracking your other thread... I appreciate you getting involved in the process, riding with that CASAA banner, and helping to "herd the cats." I appologize if it appeared as though I was breaking ranks by making a request outside of CASAA's "Calls to Action" - I'm following marching orders from SFATA, whom I trust has the best interest of the wider industry at heart, also. <3

The world needs more people like the people in this thread... thank you for getting involved in the politics (despite the fact that most of us would rather not get involved in anything political). This one hits close to home for all of us...

At some point "the history of vaping" will be written. In it there will be pivotal moments when the wider community came together and achieved something monumental. I still can't fathom why the FDA, whom by all accounts should be lauding the vaping community for SAVING LIVES, insists on casting us out like pariahs... all while attempting to entrust public health to the profit mongering BT corporate scum that looked us right in the eye, smiled, and gave us the leading cause of premature death in the modern world.
