OMG!!!!
It was a "STATUE" !!!
After all those HOURS of Pic hunting !!!
DH is loving this, he kept telling me I was WAISTING my TIME !
ok had to RANT somewhere ,thought it best to do it here

to clarify ....I wasn't upset about the loss , I'm upset about the statue !! not being a person ! I guess he was once

That was complete and utter BS result and I'm a GG fanboy. There is no proof this dude ever lived so I rejected him out of hand even though it was a very obvious commercial tie-in, as it were. I had 4 years of Latin so I know this story all too wll, too, not sure what it has to do with smoke or vaping -- maybe lotus-eating or the evils of the siren song of a woman, but not a mod -- but I'm ...... right now as its another month, another GGTS lost, a refrain that has played out for me 16 times for those monthly contests alone, probably over 500 posts between all of them since last september.......boy can I waste time evidently!!! I have got to stop trying to compete, its draining me ever so slowly, I just want to win something big, a battle victory in a war that is going badly with the way things have been for a while.........
Well, there's always next season, as my Grandmother said about her beloved Cubs -- which, of course, never won the series in her 88 years!!!

I too have a vast knowledge of the ancient world ...& I guess that's WHY we discounted it ....

OT but hey we just had a 4.7 earthquake ....it was pretty cool
the dogs started barking 1st...
so Jeff (DH) was checking out back to see what was up...it shook the whole house ! I was standing in kitchen ...it shook all the glasses & bakers racks,everything clinking & clanging, the dining table sounded like it was jumping around banging on the floor ...very surreal.... Jeff was shining his light everywhere ,lookin' for the problem....it was loud.
& it (the epicenter) was 47 miles away !!
My mind sorta went there because the eyes and mouth look like no statue I've ever seen. But you can tell the original has a beard and a lot of hair, so FDR wasn't even a thought for me. I was banking on it being Billy Connolly.
I really, really thought it was Stalin........like I said, 4 years of Latin made me hate that Homerian epic!!!!!
I hated losing this one too . . . Especially given that I knew it could have been Odysses after I examined the photo with other pictures I found - but didn't post it right away (was going down the list I made for possibilities to entrer) . . .
But now just a thought and question - I know it was a tuff one - but he did say it was going to be different last month and even mentioned he might even use a woman's photo . . .
Didn't anyone see the long hair and the the eyes (very long lashes, gleeming, etc.) were cut and pasted into the photo ? ? ?
Then there was also the fact that the lower lip was small & the teeth ?

Just found the post where he said he added the eyes from FDR. IMO that should have included all those who guessed FDR to the raffle. Not that it would have helped me. But it doesn't seem quite fair.
Its not a GG contest without a controversy and hurt feelings, its always something. I keep trying since not every vendor gives away a $250 mod monthly!!!!LOL I do love using the damned things, too........even though the whole thing with contests frustrates me so!!!
I keep trying because I will never be able to afford one of those beauties...or any of the high quality mods for that fact. But like you said, not every vendor gives one away every month, so he can make whatever ruling he wants and still be pretty damn cool. And a lot of ppl are repeat winners. It just gets so frustrating sometimes!! Plus I would love to have something really cool like a cool mod that I could never afford otherwise. This is my only way of even having a chance of owning one. But boy some of these contests are just way too much. I know in order to have a life I can't enter them all. And in order to not have a massive migrane I can't puzzle over some of them either lol.

I wouldn't let a little fear stop you from trying DIY. It's really not that hard. All you need is unflavored nic juice, flavoring, VG and/or PG and water or vodka to dilute if you want to. The nic juice is the most expensive of the ingredients and it isn't that bad. There are lots of ejuice calculators out there to tell you how much of everything to use. You start with 3 or 5ml sample batches and if you don't like it you can dump it and try again or add something to it to help make it vapable. It's easy and fun. Sometimes frustrating but it's make you feel really good when you finally get the taste you're looking for. Give it a try.
