but...deliverance did have rape and murder in it...

We both know that is a film and Saw, et al, is crap.....if I'm going to go crap, give me 70s-80s T&A comedies anyday, more Valley Girls, Bill & Teds, and Fast Times!!!

I am not into Gore movies at all. It is not that I don't believe in global warming, it is just the one sided approach and distorted facts.

but i have to admit horror movies are my favorites

We could take turns picking the film of the night, I have a lot, I love the 30s and 40s......

I'll be spending some of my tax money this year on entertainment - getting some movies I have been wanting for my collection for a long time, and books as well. A little treat to myself, have to save the rest for moving expenses. If anyone has suggestions...I started a list, but now I can't find it Some movies I had on VHS but I no longer watch VHS so I need to replace those too.

I thought I gave you one at some point -- next WCV meeting I'll bring my list so you can get some ideas.....

It counts. It takes big batts and is VV. It's not a stick or ego. (but my vote might not count as I've only been a reader of this thread till now)

Gore movies are fun and amusing and awesome - comparing them to christians eaten by lions doesn't work because they're movies. They aren't real. We know that they are actors who are most likely having an awesome time pretending to be disemboweled or brutally stabbed to death. Cabin in the Woods is my favorite film I've seen in a long time. I can watch horror movies without flinching all day long, even torture porn, which I object to because they are poorly written and acted for the most part, but not because of the violence. I'm also a fan of horror video games. Now, show me a clip of somebody actually dying, car accident photos, crime scene photos, and I'll be sick to my stomach for the rest of the day.

Sorry - I read this thread all of the time but have not participated yet. Hope it's okay to do so now... I'm a movie person. I love them, I've worked on them, I felt strongly enough to jump into the conversation.

See, its the marginalization of violence in our society and making it a surreal exercise in perception -- I grew up when the news wasn't sanitized for our digestion like it is now, I remember a lot more graphic stuff from CBS news et al during vietnam.....I think when it is shown so over-the-top it makes it hard for young people to know what they do is real and not a game -- this is a conversation for another time but I think there should be more MA ratings on gore flicks than porn -- like the great George Carlin once said, I'd rather have my kid see f'iing than killing ("Sheriff, we're goiing to f345 you now, but we're going to f345 you slow....":face!!!

Your vote for "giving it away" barely counts, as you posted once before. But because it is not unanimous, I am still on the fence. I want to give it away, because if I win an ePipe or some other cool device, I don't want to give that away!

I guess I will debate it with myself until it comes. Then I will decide.

I just don't have the time to spend keeping up either. I'm on my pc 40+ hours a week for work, so I'm rarely on it when I'm not working. I do everything from my phone.
