Well, I was just commiserating about how it's difficult to fairly win a contest that is based on likes or votes. That's all.. but, I realized I was sounding whiny and petty so I erased it. *sigh*

I think you will find most people in this thread agree with you on that one

I have friends here and I could call in lots of votes but I think that's crappy so I don't. But, that means I can't win. Waaaaaah! And, I was excited because I was getting lots of honest votes - but you know what, at least I can feel good that people honestly liked my entry. I'll look on the bright side.

I am sure everybody agrees that "Like" based contests are not fair.

I was kind of rooting for the new vaper (Heavy112), but also don't like the asking for help. He seems like a nice guy. He will soon learn better etiquette.

He was not the only one. I saw a post in Reo-land advertising for help.

It is the nature of that kind of contest. Hopefully the vendors understand why those contests don't create honest results. But even PIF had a "Likes" based contest. I did not feel I deserved third place. I don't do near as much for PIF as I could or should. Thankfully someone came along and rewarded all those nominated.

Yeah, see, I see both sides and that's why I edited my original post - because I don't want to be a whiner... but, sometimes, I guess you just gotta vent.

I voted based on the length of the description and whether they described the flavor since it is going on the website... and I personally think they should pick the final winner... but it's there contest.

I have to remember that I won the Mom and Pop contest based on likes and although I did not ask for any votes, I'm sure that some of them were received simply because people knew me or liked me and not necessarily my recipe. So... I just have to keep remembering that.

I think the "like" contest alienate the buyer from sellers.

If you have a contest make it random or bite the bullet, as a supplier, and say what you like best.

I've been turned down for commissions because people didn't like my idea, but I accepted it because they were the ones who were going to pay and own it.

The same applies here.

:)

I don't think that is the case...your recipies sounded good. I am not a fan of choco vapes and my girl doesn't like coconut...or I would have ordered it (I have a bottle from the battle pack that I haven't tried). The consistent reorder or the PF5L is proof that you did deserver it. I have even seen it in other peoples sigs.

Look back a few pages, I accidentally started a war with the lavacorps for a weird-... mod I didn't really want, hey, they are more cohesive than my friends!!! :)
