So as a habitual contest loser, I need your input on whether or not I've broken my losing streak. At the Lexington vape Meet I was helping a friend of the wife put together a beginner's set up. She wants as simple as possible. At my insistence she entered a drawing and won. She decided it was way too complicated for her, so she gave it to me.

As much as I won the one from Blind Richard, I would answer in the affirmative, my friend.....

See, that's where my question comes in. I know getting it makes me "a winner," but since it's not my name anywhere associated with it as a prize does it break my streak? You had the opposite thing going on there--the "winning" part could be debated but he attached your name to it as a prize specifically to break your streak. Which makes him a cheater...
