Had to pop in here and commiserate a bit. Some of you might have seen me at Vapercon in my Wolverine outfit. Ended up losing that contest and couldnt help but feel like I was gipped but I had a good time anyway so I tried not to let it get to me.

Fast forward to last night at a local bar holding a costume contest.I purposely pick a small place because I figure I'll be a shoe-in right? Wrong...even though my costume looked amazing complete with claws, handpainted belt buckle, dog tags and the same jacket Hugh wore in the Wolverine movie I end up losing to a really bad C3P0 (the guy didnt even have his mask on and the costume was printed onto a yellow jumpsuit) and to some weird zombie chick wearing a 5 dollar purple velvet dress, badly applied makeup and a 99 cents plastic spider glued to her head. Both of them were bar regulars in there 4 nights a week so it ended up devolving into a popularity contest more than anything else.

I cant even walk into a gas station without someone saying "you look just like wolverine) so I probably sound really bitter here but I cant help it.

Anyway thanks for letting me vent.I feel loads better now having gotten that off my chest

You were an excellent Wolverine, Amver's outfit was awful, I still feel you got gypped, too.....

1. He has more of a baby face to be honest -- but he ain't fat!!! Not bad for a guy I guess.......

2. I have nevver won a contest based on 'likes', there is always a contingent pushing for one of their own, we all have seen that time and again and that's why most vendors stopped doing those contests. That said, yeah, life has been quite embarassing lately, I just wish I would get a little more actual hugs rather than the virtual ones that I get, and most assuredly whole-heartedly appreciate, normally!!!

It used to be that even the oldest threads I posted in were brought up to the top when somebody posted anew. Now I am having to subscribe to them in order to get them to the "Settings" tab. I did find how to subscribe to any thread I posted in, so that is what I am doing now.

I have always read this thread, even when I was the one people were commiserating about. My posts here have been few, because my life has been blessed. Still, I consider each who post here a friend.

No, it is one of the stranger things about the thread, Paialia -- all that come here to complain about not winning or getting jobbed usually end up winning a contest in the ner future -- except for me and pwyll for some reason!!!

Lol people kept asking how Wolverine could be a zombie.I said I dunno ask Marvel I left the movie replica leather jacket at home because I didnt want to mess it up and yes thats my Provari with my Phiniac tank in my right hand it never leaves my side.
