Tbh, I enjoy the ones where i can be quasi-creative, writing or funny pics/stories -- though it seems my humor is lost on more than a few and/or I just don't post them at the right time!!!

It's the most famous part of the "dance" that goes with an old Village People song...

I shouldn't share this:blush::blush::blush:........my parents bought me this album for Xmas when it came out, the crap I got from my friends was fierce -- eventually it ended up with a lot of my disliked and/or scratched albums (Damn, I'm old!!!) as a target in skeet shooting!!!

You need to have something Xmas "like' written under the picture.

In the contest...

...Because no one will relate the guy in the painting to anything Xmas "like". :)

I don't think my mom figured out they were gay until later, I think she just thought they were ebullient young men, like a doo-wop group  -- remember, it was the 70s replete with Disco bs, the BeeGees weren't exactly the manliest warblers out there....8-o8-o8-o

It had nothing to do with their sexual orientation, no matter how blatant it may have been--dad is a very open-minded bigot. No, the Village People would not have been allowed in the house (had anyone wanted them) because Disco was an abomination and bad Disco was just :censored::censored:of:censored:in the:censored:.

And since you brought up the Bee Gees, they may have been a good part of the reason--up until 1973 the Bee Gees were in regular on the turntable. In 1975 all those records disappeared and I don't think I've ever heard dad even mention them since...

So many of you youngsters have no idea the horror of us who hit high school the same time as disco, there were not near the amount of musical options (no walkmans yet, only boomboxes!!!) and pop was all Donna Summer and stuff, it was so awful...even the Moody Blues put out a disco album, shudder.........one of the worst quarters of high school in my life is being in PE dance and having to learn the moves of both disco and country -- and the ignomy of being good at it and the crap I got for being graceful was tremendous, it has prevented me getting on the dance floor for years!!! I was a member of the Insane Coho Lips (Man, WLUP was 'Chicago's Kick-... Rock', that slogan was controversial at the time!!!8-o8-o8-o) abd Disco Suckswas painted on nearly every stop sign in the subdivision!!!
