I find it very interesting - FINALLY - I have more "Likes" than anyone else in a contest - YAY ! ! !

Okay - it is 5 "like" and only 1 more then anyone else, but I am still leading the pack . . .

Now - if I could only get everyone else on ECF to vote for me I might just WIN ! ! !

Except the "Winner" is going to be choosen by Random Number . . .

I think you have forgotten one minor detail...

CONTEST RULES:

1) Make a Post filling in the blank: My New Year's VAPING resolutions is ___________.
2) NUMBER your posts
3) 10 entries allowed per screen name
4) Contest ends at 1000 posts or 1/1/2012
5) Winners will be chosen at random with random.org

They have already announced that NONE of their contests will have anything to do with getting the most "Likes" anymore... just to be fair to everyone. Hence the poor showing...

I think you can primarily blame ME for that one

They had a contest to see what people had for suggestions and mine was "no more likes based contests" with a couple other suggestions for contests.

It was the no likes comment that, oddly, got me the most likes and the win!

I seem to remember getting the shamefinger from you about that post...which I can't blame you for, but it was entirely about the fact that a liked post doesn't necessarily deserve to win...such fun that one was! The whole "have fun" thing, for me, is what it is all about (well, except for the GG ones...man I really want one of those!), and the prizes are just bonus. I usually "Like" all the posts of my fellow contest lovers in all of the like based ones so at least one of us in the "contest ho" coallition will win.

I don't even have a VV mod, but I try for everyone with the hopes that someday I will have one...guess time will tell. Hopefully I can win another 808 kit so I can finally get off these aging 510's...they are down to about 1 hour per charge XD

We should gather all the contest fiends and get a list of "faithfulls" so that with every "likes" contest we can random.org our list and select who will win that one. I bet we could easily just run (and collect goodies from) them all!

Okay and for Sally Field and I - we are already really GOOD FRIENDS - Been "liked" enough . . .

However, IT IS VERY SAD (insert Crying Smiley here) that I am "Begging" for "like" for a Contest that is a Random Drawing . . .

BUT, I was in the lead and I want to stay that way at least ONCE in a Contest even if that is not how the Winner is chosen . . .

Guess what - I think You deserved that win and I think we all are better off that the SI Contest is no longer based on being "like" - which IMHO really has to do with being popular - even here on ECF - like we were all still in Elementary or High SCHOOL . . .

Dude come on. I said we would see what the coders said. I also said that there are other options if you do not want to wait until the coders look at it. They might not even be able to fix it.
You might also note that in the thread someone posted an addon for ie that does spell checking.

We gave you options, it's up to you if you want to try any of them, ignore them or just not do them. At the end of the day its no skin off my nose what you do as I am on my phone, using possibly the worst default browser ever made, and I still am not having problems.

I just don't like ie because once you get into the operations side of sites, servers and pc's you realise that a company as big as Microsoft should be the industry leaders, but instead they are dragging everyone behind. It's no fault of yours that they are useless.

If you really wanted to you could type your posts in word or openoffice and use their spell checkers.

I purr-sonally LOVED the irony in the fact that the idea about NOT having contests with 'likes' got the most of them!!!

I can't stand the contests on Facebook where they turn it into a popularity contest, when the original intent was to submit artwork and have the best one win... and when the ECF started having 'Likes' on the posts/comments as well, I thought it was all going downhill from there, too!!

The only time I ever asked for people to 'like' an entry of mine was for a photo contest... because I was up against someone else who had also entered the same photo(s) in another contest where we had BOTH won prizes before... LOL!! And I had only done it because I wanted the kit for another Giveaway I was planning... not just for bragging rights!!!!!!
If it were up to me, I would just as soon call a BOYCOTT on contests where the winner is determined by the most 'likes'...

Plus I just LOVE the fact that isbn has been winning a few contests since his return!!! What a great Welcome Back for him!!!

I agree with you about IS and the rest and like you said I can do everything in some other software . . . AND I do sometimes, but the spell checker was and is not the only problem I was trying to get help with - there are more problems that need to be address with the interface . . .

BTW: Since this thread is for commiserating with "Rip" - maybe all these post need to be taken out of this thread and the other one opened back up to have this discussion - that is if we are going to discuss it further . . . Just a thought
