I am just glad to see some good parents....I would most certainly not be one...
You never know, really. As Ripple said, perspectives change.
I was ready and willing, but I was 39 when she was born. On the other hand, some of the best parents I've met actually didn't want kids, were surprised and upset, but really stepped up to the plate. And some of the worst parents seem to think of kids as pets--they want em' but they don't want to have to take care of 'em...
You never know.
I am far too selfish...If the kid asked me to read them a bedtime story I would likely reply with "didn't I teach you to read? My work is done."
That's
how you teach them to read. Shortly after she turned six we started telling her (sometimes) it's time for you to read me a bedtime story. Then, for a while, I would only read her every other page and make her read the "between" pages. Now it's about 50/50 whether she wants us to read a story or she wants to read a story to us...
I am not good at sharing my toys either. I applaud you both.
Oh
f..k that! She's got her own d.mned toys. She learned the lesson about playing with my toys when she got home one day and found me playing with her Barbies. There's Mama stuff, Daddy stuff, Rhianna stuff and family stuff--and she knows better than to mess with Mama stuff or Daddy stuff without asking.
