Commiserating with Ripple

Not as much as the vendors who have to make a choice -- there are some really petulant people on both sides with long-standing disagreements, I just want peace and love and some partying!!!

True.

This is spinning into complete & utter decay. The cool kids vs the un-cool. I'm still trying to figure out which group is the cool one.

In a time where our very right to vape is being challenged by state & local governments, I think this hatred should be channelled towards the real enemies & not at each other. The bickering & division needs to come to an end.

Well, I know where Loveridden and I will be -- with the WCV, its our home club. For others its not as clear a a choice, there are real issues with some people that I can completely comprehend, it matters who do you believe -- and they allow no fence-sitting!!!!8-o8-o8-o

For those not in the know, the one is sponsored by the Windy City Vapers, the other by the NVC, a group that is mostly at VF. There are those who have a lot of trouble with the NVC and their de facto leader, Spikey, mostly from personality and an ill-fated study that became a sinkhole for cash........it has led to an enormous rift between people who were friends 18 months ago...........

I understand why you'll be with your home club too.

The thing I don't understand is why they scheduled it on the same weekend. They don't have to go to VF, but the sabotage seems odd & rather spiteful. (OK..I do understand, but it just makes me shake my head.)

I have no dog in the fight, but I do live in Indy & if I head up there that weekend, I'm now forced to choose between the two. It didn't need to be like that IMO. Seems juvenile.

NVC announced Vapefest last week.
WCVC announced Vapebash last night.

I wouldn't use the word 'spiteful' lox -- it was to offer an option for those that didn't support the one faction, it was not originally a WCV idea to have a second one; also WCV felt co-opted somewhat without any dialogue with the NVC............

Can I commiserate about a mod that's not necessarily from a contest?

If someone says "good condition," should it take 45 minutes of scrubbing with alcohol to be able to find the metal? And if an included part requires a cable and the poster says "I have it" would you expect it to be included? And if they told you after you've paid that "the brass threads that the 510 screws into, this part is kinda stripped, but an 801 will work fine." would you expect it to look like this:

(and yes, that's after a 20 minute soak in PGA and 15 minutes with a Q-tip--it took about an hour and a half to get enough petrified noalox, and some unidentifiable fibrous substance, out of the threads and nooks and crannies to make it usable)

For the price I paid I am still satisfied with what I got, but I do not feel that the information provided was given in good faith. Perhaps I should have taken "Yes I have the cable also but I need to tear up the house to find it." to have an implied "but I won't" on the end

Ah well, with the parts I did get, it was still a helluva deal...

I would have thought the option of "Don't go" would have been sufficient. Holding another nationwide vaping event on the same day...

Not sure what else to call that Ripp.

I'm not expecting anyone to defend either side here, because I'm certainly not.

We hear about the division of the vaping community, & this does nothing to fill that gap. It only makes it wider.

I've never seen the show, but I've heard about it. And to be fair, I'd more than likely have still bought the package if I'd known--it just would have been nice not to be blind-sided

Yeah, I've had it happen a few times to, in fact today I got a package that just looks like whatever was thrown in the coffee can was wrapped and sent.......

I personally have to make sure everything is up to snuff (which means cleaned and not dripping, wet with anything....just a pride thing I 'spose

Yes, but for me it's not pride--at least not until after I know what's there. For me it's a matter of finding out what something really is--sometimes you can't tell how broken it is until it's clean, and sometimes you don't know what a gem it is until it's clean. In this particular case it was a little of both...

Next round of cleaning is for pride
