So, instead of long threads, we will have to find multiple threads to find old posts -- new threads will be generated every three days like with the GV or Zen threads -- stupid social buttons remain that are the actual culprit of the forum slowdown but they still won't admit it - -yep, I'm sure I'm at ECF right now!!! 
Hey rip, you can disable the social buttons in preferences. Some of them, at least. It sped up ecf big time for me.
Settings>General Settings>Disable Social (all the way down at the bottom of the page.)
