It was so hot that.........
I was wetter from sweating than when I got in the lake
My hair spazzed and it looked like I had some serious resemblence to an aging Bernie from Room 222
That my dog burnt her paws on some asphalt
That I was in the campground restroom and sweat so much I almost slipped backwards on the pot
My hairy but bald BILs looked like bearsin a stream
My aged FIL and MIL thought it was pleasant!!!
My back went the first day so I couldn't hike for squat but the area is absolutely stunning and the people were all very nice, I would recommend oing there (Cumberland Point) especially now that the town of omerset just voted in alcohol to the local baptist preacher's chagrin!!!
I actually saw some confederate flags, though........

I got offa work today, and about ten minutes after I get home the wife calls from Texas to let me know she's up and they're getting ready to go run an errand. She then proceeded to call me every half-hour to 45 minutes for the next seven hours. An hour after she finally said she was going to let me get some sleep, a woman that lives down the street knocked on the door. "Did I wake you up?" "Yes" "I'm sorry, will you give me a ride to the credit union?"
On the way back from the credit union she gets a phone call: "Hello? No that's okay, I got a ride. I know you said you'd take me, but you fell asleep. Yeah I know you said you'd give me a ride, but you were sleeping so peacefully I couldn't bring myself to wake you. Don't worry about it, I got someone else to do it."
Then, back at the ranch, she says "I keep forgetting you sleep during the day."
Anyway, it's supposed to be cooler tomorrow and Sunday (not even supposed to break 100 Sunday), so maybe I can brave the heat and make the drive to "surprise" you. It's only three hours or so. Biggest problem is that my MS is heat triggered and I don't have air-conditioning in the car
Oh yes, and you're only about an hour and a half from Cumberland Falls. The moonbow will be visible July 1-5, provided it's a clear night. Since it's the only one in the world now, it may be worth taking a drive over--it really is pretty frackin' awesome...
