Common ingredient in Rootbeer Float and Cafe Macchiato?

I've tried them both and there was something in the rootbeer float that my tastebuds got all wrong. Others that tried that bottle said it tastes good but all I could taste was a very bitter burnt something.

I won a bottle of Cafe Macchiato at the local vaping in Phoenix social and I get the same taste from it. I've read other posts where people said the new flavoring in the cafe macchiato was bitter and maybe that's what I'm tasting. I don't know if the bottle I won was old or new flavor.

So I'm wondering if there's a common dairy (or something else) flavor component between those two? And if so, what other flavors contain it?

Flavors I've tried that don't give me that taste:
Cafe Mocha
Atomic Fireball
Pina Colada
Amaretto Stone Sour
German Chocolate Cake
Blueberry Cheesecake
Strawberry Cheesecake
Butter Rum

Is the liquid a dark dark brown or a lighter slightly golden brown?
The lighter is the old with Loranns flavoring, the darker is the loranns free one.

I want to get Dulce De Leche and Bananas Foster but I'm afraid it's the dairy flavor that gives me trouble.

Uber I have both old and new formulas. The new one has a much stronger coffee flavor, and the old one is milder. Now I love them both, and even made a small mix with both, also delicious.

I wouldn't think that dairy would taste burnt, coffee flavor would most likely be the culprit but that's just my humble opinion.

UberDuper, I don't think dairy flavor is messing with your tastebuds, as Cafe Mocha, Pina Colada and TV Butter Rum include dairy. It appears that you don't taste anything funky when vaping these three flavors.

A common ingredient in both Cafe Macchiato and Rootbeer Float is Vanilla. Also, as CaptJay pointed out, Cafe Macchiato that you have might be Lorann's free version, which had a more bitter taste to the mix.

Bananas Foster does contain some vanilla, so it might not be a flavor for you, if it is truly vanilla that is giving you grief. I would get a sample and see if you like BF or not. Dulce De Leche should be safe to order, but if you don't want to risk it, which is understandable, samples through the TV family is way to go!

On a side note, what kind of model are you using? We have reached the point that we really need to consider how our liquids are interacting with certain mechanisms and models, do more R&D and adjust recipes accordingly.

Well, I took the KK mod plugged into my USB/wall adapter rated at 5 volts/2 amps and with a fresh 901 atty, and vaped Atomic Cinnicide in it. It darn near blew my head off.

I say don't change a thing.

I would kill for a local vaping social. I have already invited the 2 cows and 4 deer but they didnt rsvp.

I have all those flavors you listed and i think it just might be your tastebuds. Most of those flavors i got on my first order and the flavors have not changed. In fact, the flavors have blossomed and pack more punch. But a burnt taste i dont get.

Vanilla.. I wouldn't have suspected that one. I'll def see if I can get a sample of the Bananas Foster from someone.

I started with and have been using a 510 on a simple 3.7v battery mod for the last two months and that's what I've tried the Rootbeer Float and the Cafe Macchiato on. I just finished a 5v box and got some kr808 cartomizers to try.
I can already tell you that German Chocolate Cake doesn't work in a 510@5v. It gets a toasted flavor. Haven't tried it in a cartomizer yet. But Pina Colada on a 510 or kr808 at 5v, the flavor really comes to life.

jebey29, I have no doubt it's my tastebuds. I was pretty critical of the rootbeer float when I first got it and I regret that now. I gave the bottle to my brother and he says it's spot on. I suspect I'm having the same issue with the macchiato.

On a bit of a tangent... Red Frosting.. What the hell is in red frosting that tastes so horrid to me but nobody else tastes?

There are some juices that didn't taste good (not TV) using a 510. Just to try it, I got an adapter and 901 atty. Most of this same juice tastes good on the 901. This is 3.7v.

You might want to try a 901 atty on your juice before you get rid of it.
