The government recently announced that they're looking to regulate the sale of e-cigarettes in South Australia. It's no secret that there are powerful lobby groups desperate to have vaping banned, and we know they're already influencing legislation in other states. We're at risk of the same thing happening here, unless we do something about it today.
Over the last two months, a number of people in the vaping community (B&M stores, online shops, juice makers, and vaping advocates like The Vaping Bogan) have banded together to form a non-profit group called the Smoke-Free Traders Association. The Association's primary goal is to work with government to make sure any legislation isn't just written by tobacco companies in their favour, but fairly represents our community.
Our first step is to demonstrate to the government that we all care passionately about our right to vape, and that there's tens of thousands of us willing to stand up, fight back and make sure our voice is heard.
To achieve that, we've created a Facebook group called Community Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives (or CASFA if you prefer.) See below for the link.
If you're a vaper, NOW is the time to start pushing back against the people who want to limit your freedom of choice. Add yourself to the group and show your support by inviting your friends. It doesn't matter if you're South Australian or not, this issue is bigger than just one state, so let's band together and protect our freedoms.
