ive been vaping for aboot 2 months now. i started on a manual 510, and im currently
using a regular ego. ive found i like both, but im thinking of getting the volt. as much as
i love the mah on the ego, im not too keen on the large size of it. ive searched high and
low and cant find anything comparing these two ( 510 vs volt ). anyone have any experience

I own both and to me, the volt wins hands down, no competition.

I started on a 510, got an ego and wanted something that didn't look like a crack pipe. The cops kept stopping me and people would stare like I was a jukie and I hated it. The volt was my answer.

I used to take my 510 out but it was a pain refilling the stupid carts on the atty and it leaked and otherwise sucked as a portable unit. If I'd known about cartos back then I would have got them for sure.

Anyways, the volt 808 cartos I loved so much I got an 808 adapter for my ego and love to use volt cartos on it. I was pretty much converted to using all cartos after I got the volt.

One other thing is it being an auto battery. It's been maybe 2 months since I got mine? Still totally fine. I've even gotten some liquid in them by accident and they work just fine. I LOVE auto batteries! I walk to work and back with it hanging out my mouth without pressing the button, great for hands free vaping.

Overall, about the same as a 510 but you get an auto battery that doesn't set itself off or spontaneously combust to the remotest droplet of moisture within 500 meters and it's dirt cheap. (Except I got stuck with lousy import taxes that made it cost a lot more, lame!)

If I were you I'd go for it, I love my volt! I also love my ego, but my 510 is in a drawer and I'm thinking about giving it to someone who's interested in vaping I'm trying to convert so it stops being a dust magnet.

I agree with leftfeild. The eGo is the clear winner in terms of battery life, but if you are looking for a cigarette-sized model the Volt is about as good as it gets. The cartomizers on the Volt are fantastic, delivering a nice warm vape and plenty of flavor. It outperforms the similar regular 510.

The volt is regulated at 3.6v, the 510 is 3.3 or close maybe 3.2, the volt has a little higher output. Battery life is also better with the volt comparing both the regular and longer batteries.

If you choose to go with an automatic battery the volt wins hands down. Best auto battery I've tried, doesn't misfire with vibrations, noises, wind etc and activates quick as soon as you start drawing. I had constant issues with the 510 auto I tried going off when it wasn't supposed to but I haven't tried a 510 lately, they may have updated it.

The vertical coil the cartomizer uses is a better design on the Volt imo. The threading is different so if you go with the Volt and want to use your 510 stuff you'll need a 808/510 adapter but they are just a few bucks.

All in all I don't see any advantage for the 510 in comparison unless someone just had to have that threading and didn't want to use an adapter. Especially if you want to go with an Auto battery.

Edit: Just thought of something else. If you go with the Volt and want to use stuff from your 510 get the manual battery. The auto battery won't work with an adapter due to not having a hole in the center to draw through.

ok.

first off, thanks to all for the quick replies. im sorry it took so long to reply, but my two little
ones were awfully anti-parent today.lol

i think all of you just made up my mind, and i think ill order tomorrow. a coworker of mine gave me her ego-t after a losing battle of trying to quit, and i was vaping that today @ work. i gotta say, the convenience of the tank is nice, but the flavor is absolutely not there. earlier when i posted this question, i had found that the promo code "HEATWAVE" gives you 25% off, applied it, and had the
standard starter kit in the cart. low and behold, i get home, read the post, and they are out of stock!!!

any thoughts on the pcc they offer ?

thanks again,
mike

Don't have any experience with the PCC but it seems to get good feedback. Smokelessimage has a section in the suppliers forum you could get more info on it, say hi a few more times in the new section and get your count to 5 and you'll be able to post there. There's also a video review in the review section on both the kit and the pcc. I'll try to find a link and post it below.

I've never had a need for a PCC. I use bigger batteries or mods most of the time and use the volt when I'm going out and just want something to drop in my pocket and go for an afternoon, evening or whatever so 1 or 2 charged batteries are all I need.

I agree about the Volt. It's really something special. The cartos are amazing. All of my other ecigs do things that annoy me. My other 808s have "battery post issues." This is where you put the cartomizer on and nothing good happens (no vapor). So you've got to unscrew the carto, run around the house to find a tweezers or paper clip and lift up the battery post so it makes good contact with the carto. This may seem like a small problem, but to me, it's a deal breaker. It annoyed the heck out of me. My Go-Go was great; unfortunately it also had the battery post problem and some sort of charger problem. It would also misfire often. To be fair, I got my Go-Go when they first came out so maybe they've fixed these problems now.

My 510 manuals were okay; I didn't like using cartridges and I was glad when cartos came out. The battery life was terrible and I'd have to bring a whole baggie of them if I was going to be out all day. Seriously, I'd get about 45 minutes of vaping on the 510s. But the vape was pretty good and no battery post problems.

My egos were okay, but I like to take a skinny battery out with me. My 5volt Gold Digger mod provides a great vape, but I would never take that thing out in public or to college with me. I'd probably get arrested. I really like my Madvapes 5v box mod, but when I take it outside, the sunlight activates it and my carto burns up.

So all of my ecigs had some sort of problem that irritated me. Until I found the Volt. I love the Volt so much! It comes in pretty colors. The flavors are much better than any other 808 prefilleds that I've ever tried. I love the Cherry and the Chocolate and I've never found a chocolate that I've liked in the past. Battery life is great for a skinny battery. They sell an awesome PCC case that charges 2 batts at once and holds 6 cartos. Smokeless Image provides amazing customer service, free shipping over $55 and great prices. Their prefilled carto prices are lower than all the other companies. The cartos produce amazing clouds of vapor. They are just what I've been looking for. I can grab my Volt and go and not have to carry a tweezers or 8 batteries with me. The batteries feel satiny and comfortable in your hand.

Definitely give the Volt a try; you won't be disappointed.

I like both. Volt is a KR808D-1 and I have been vaping both 510 manual and KR808D-1 manual for 7 months. I use cartomizers on both (Boge standard resistance on 510, Vapor4Life WOW cartos on KR808D-1).

Volt claims slightly higher battery charge life than standard KR808D-1, but approximately... the KR808D-1 shorty and Joye 510 standard are about the same charge. The KR808D-1 standard size and Joye 510 mega xl are about the same charge,

I just got a Volt manual battery today. Other than the button being very tiny compared to my Vapor4Life and standard KR808D-1 batteries, it seems quite nice.

In my opinion, with new cartos and similar juices, the 510 w/ Boge SR carto gives a moister more vapory vape, the KR808D-1 gives a drier and warmer less vapory vape. The KR808D-1 give more hit from the same amount of nicotine. I had one juice that had too much hit for me on KR808-1, so I used that juice on 510+Boge and was able to vape it. And I use a low nic blend of vanillas now as one of my flavors so I put that on my KR808D-1 to give it more hit, and I use a juice that has more hit already on my 510+Boge.

I love both.
