Competition worthy clouds with variable device

I've seen some folks claim that it's possible to get competition worthy clouds with a variable wattage/voltage device. I'm having a difficult time getting close with the 50 watt IPV2 and doge rda. I've been trying with 24, 26, and 28 gauge Kanthal.

Anyone who's been able to get results want to share some tips?

The first question is, can you get the results you want under any circumstance?

If your atty and build technique are sub par for cloudage then it won't matter if power is coming from a mech or a regulated device.

Your going to have to have a regulated putting out more than 50w if you want to compete with cloud chasing. better start looking at 100w + regulated devices.

IPV2 50 watts won't cut it for a really low ohm build. IPV3 should be shipping out now. Here is a guy using it 150w making a pretty nice cloud.
