Welcome @Jasmine4567
Here's the deal.
reviews on e-cigs are NOT to be trusted.
Halo are an American brand that sell other makes of e-cigarette with their own name on. They also sell liquid which happens to be quite good, in fairness.
The Tracer is not a true beginner's kit.
As you have found out, that liquid at that level at that power is harsh and unpleasant.
Now, the question is - what are you going to do now?
buy more Halo stuff?
Spend extra money when they've already overcharged you and sold you something unsuitable?
I bet whatever 'replacement' items you are planning on getting to recover this situation are exactly the same as arrives through my letterbox once a month, only you'll be paying more money because this is what these brand products do. Like how they got you in the first place. E-cigarettes are big business. Big business doesn't want people knowing everything is on sale without the brand name. Big business doesn't care what starter product you bought only how much commission they need to pay to the review sites.

Im sorry, but Im not following your comments. You are saying ?? Trying to sell me something ??
Yes, I was probably a fool to follow a review, but other products were also in the review. As I stated when I first posted, I had no one to ask and no local shop to visit. Think the nearest shop is about 500 kms away. So I took a plunge and bought a starter kit. Gullible, very probably. I thought this better than trying my luck on EBay.
With the wonderful, kind and patient replies I've had today, Im now slowly moving in a positive direction with a product Im hoping to be able to use and not have wasted my money.
Im not trying to be rude, I just dont get where your post is going?

Once you hurt/burn your throat it takes a while to heal it and harsh vapes IMO was you pulling on that ecig like a smoke, being too much power also got too hot and it hurt the throat. Don't pull or suck on the hitter, draw on it like a straw, not hard and let the hitter do the work. Put the vape into your mouth and inhale slowly until you get use to the vapor. Your throat is sore now and pulling hard is going to make it worse. It could be the juice but I doubt it. I thought I saw 1.2ohm coil posted so vape that at around 12-14 watts. The lower ohm coil requires a bit more finesse to operate than the higher ohm coils so start high ohm and once you get the how too figured out then get into the lower ohm coils. Don't use the manufactures specs for wattage on the head, start about half what they say and go up by 1-5 watt increments until its a comfortable vape.

I wasted $800 (£600) on e-cigs believing the reviews. I was the king of gullible.
That's where my post was going. Please don't do the same.
I appreciate my post was abrupt and I apologise for that, always; but there is no easy way to say it sometimes.
Avoid the big brands, they want your money and will spend their money (on review websites) to convince new vapers that only 5 or 6 brands are the best e-cigs.
I thought you were in the UK. That's where I am.
If you are here, then you'll know who to ask in the future if you need advice. :)

Thank you everyone. Im watching the videos now. This afternoon I will try a new coil and add liquid to the coil as per the suggestions and videos. I will also try a local supplier for the 1.2 ohms coils as suggested and I have the glycerol if needed. Ill keep you all posted later today. You have all been very kind and incredibly helpful, many thanks.
Welcome and glad you joined. I'm glad your starting to iron out your difficulties. The advice given looks good to me. Vegetable Glycerin is very mild on the throat, you might try vaping it only for a while. Please post back if you need additional help.

Just to let everyone know. I took out the old coil, saturated the new coil with juice, left it a few minutes and then added more juice to the coil till no more was absorbed (I was amazed how much it took!). Left it a few minutes, dragged a few times before I turned it on and tried it. Well the taste is certainly a lot better. So I added .25mls of Glycerol to the tank and it tasted a bit smoother, so I think Im going in the right direction. Have to say, the taste isn't what I expected, and it now has a warm feeling to the taste, but that is OK. Ill give it another try tonight. I know it will be an acquired taste. I will also order some 1.2 ohm coils from the local supplier. Couldn't have got this far without everyone's help, thank you so much. Ill keep you posted.
Don't be afraid to try different flavors until you find one that suits you. If you don't enjoy it, You won't stay off the smokes.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your kit. It's just not geared toward a new vaper. That said with the help of the people here I am betting it will work for you just fine. I find most reviews of products I have found are fairly accurate personally, however since you are a member of this forum take advantage of the knowledge here (you appear to already be doing that) and get opinions before you make big purchases you can learn a lot.

Also (please someone correct me if I'm mistaken) you can mouth to lung hit on anything but the units with high ohms are hard to lung hit on.
