In my experience you are unlikely to get the perfect set up first time. I went through a whole bunch of stuff until I found what I liked. Dive in and get some kit and try it, it's not until you start using a few different set ups that you work out what it is you like.

Cigarettes come in only one variety of burning death, e-cigs are more variable in terms of what's right for the individual.

I think its going to take a couple of weeks if not more to get a understanding of the world of vaping.

More, definitely more! I'm not even going to get into it, but man, the world of vaping is wild and wonderful. It doesn't really start making sense until you actually start vaping, but once you do, it will be fine. You may discover you love blowing clouds and desire a sub0hm setup down the road for example, you may decide you want to make your own juice for pennies on the dollar, there are so many things that can happen. The main thing though is to start somewhere, and then keep refining things. For example my son was a cloud chaser, and when he gifted me his equipment and I really wanted to quit, I came here, then promptly bought my first N2 tank... and, things continued from there.

I think it's a good plan to read over stuff, and certainly, going to the vape shop is going to make you more comfortable as you'll actually be able to pick stuff up, handle it, etc.

Really, though, this sounds like a bit of anxiety about "getting it perfect" due to upcoming quit date. You aren't going to get a perfect vape right out of the gate, but you'll likely find things you like and do not like, and etc. It's going to work out... Even without the "perfect" starter kit, you'll have a starting point, and you can go from there. There is no vape that is "best" for giving up cigarettes. Also, there is no "law" that if you ever smoke a cigarette again, you will fail at vaping. I *first* encountered vaping several years ago, dual used for a bit, then went back to "just" smoking, and when my health got bad enough, I decided to try again, with a different approach than I used the first time. I did dual use for about a week to 10 days, but the bottom line is, even if you at first REDUCE your smoking, it's still a harm reduction win, provided you keep vaping. If you never stop vaping, you are far more likely to convert fully to vaping, even if you fall off the wagon here and there. I think there was a UK study about that, actually, which I can't remember where it was posted, that vapers who continued vaping, even with some dual use, had a much higher rate of conversion to vaping alone. So, while I agree with quit dates in *theory* also remember that you've smoked for a while, falling off the wagon here or there is NOT going to prohibit you from being successful in the end, etc. etc., it really won't. Do I wish I had started vaping sooner? Sure. But, I wasn't ready, and once I WAS ready, I ended up wading through the wrong setup, finding out I was PG sensitive, and etc. None of that made me give up my ultimate goal, though sure, I smoked cigarettes here and there as I was getting going.

I just don't want you to put too much pressure on yourself re: the perfect setup thing. Once you get a stable vape (whenever that is) and you really commit, I'm sure you can do it! :)

The junk may have stayed dropped but as I tried new things I kept the old around as backups, especially in the beginning during the quit smoking phase. If you like what you start with get at least a second setup soon so you have no reason to reach for a smoke in moments of technical difficulties.

Hi Catherine,

I haven't smoked for 4 hours.... these are my new friends....

The blue one is for when I go out to eat and in the car, the black beauty is the one for home.

I tried them all and the store and these did it for me.

I'm using gold tobacco and even picked up some OG Kush by harmony, that took me back to my younger days LOL.

I think I done all right, thanks to you guys.

I now know a lot more than I did 4 hours ago.

Wow. Looking like a Pro there now!

If I may offer one piece of advice - if you run the NX75 in standard watts mode, set the temp mode to as low as it will go. I know you can lock it, but I have been known to forget and then accidentally hit the "T" button. What happens then is like instant nuclear attack on your coil.

Well done you! So happy for you. Now you have opened up a whole new world. For many, including me, it is like a hobbie. Not that I am doing anything even remotely technical yet, but one day....
I am just having a ball enjoying trying new flavours and mixes.
Thanks for introducing us to your new friends.

Hi Guy's

I went to dinner tonight for a reunion with some very close people who used to work for me...

I went to the loo 4 times in the evening and vaped with my new friends...

I have just chucked my tobacco in the bin, I can't believe how easy it is to give up the fags.

In om 6 MG nicotine and all seems well.. The little blue one is my favourite but it has a closed battery...

hopefully this lasts
