Completely lost, help!

Hi guys. I've been attempting to research the best solution for myself to no avail. There's so much available and everything is just confusing as could be. :(

Anyway, perhaps I could list off what I would prefer and hopefully receive some recommendations based on it, so here it goes! I'd like:

1. Something the size (or close to) a normal cigarette.
2. Something with one of those fancy rechargeable cases available for the model (not home or near my car very often throughout work days)
3. Something that would provide me with enough juice/carts/whatever for under $5 (after the cost of the kit and everything else) a day while fulfilling my normal 12-14 cigarette a day habit.

I have already found out that Blu is rather looked down upon for some good reasons. The Volcano Magma caught my eye, but the juice / carts they sell are kinda expensive and use propylene glycol which is apparently not a wise choice compared to the other available mixtures.

But really, I have no clue what I'm talking about and ANY help would be super appreciated. Thank you!

Try SmokelessImage.com for the Volt or Volt V2 (if you can deal with a slightly bigger longer lasting battery)

or Vaper4life.com Both have a large selection and have the charging kits. Personally I think money is better spent on extra batteries rather than the charging cases, but many like them.

Go to their forum sections or sign up on their mailing lists to check for coupon codes. Both often have sales. Vaper4Life has a discount code WHEEL until 11AM CST tomorrow.

It is pretty easy to vape for less than $5.00 a day once you get over the start-up costs. Nothing wrong with Blu juice but they are overpriced for what they are. You can do better on price and quality.

First off, I'm fairly new to vaping myself (2 months) so I am far from an expert, but I smoked just as much as you do, so i might have some advice. Just sharing my experience. Assuming that your list is in order of preference, I'd say that V2 might be good for you. After I tried and hated BLU, I went to V2. I got their starter kit and their flavor sampler, and it worked ok. I've been really happy, but I've outgrown them really quickly. I felt like you that I wanted an ecig that was closet to the real thing. What I found is that those batteries are just too small to handle an all day user. I've got two batteries and I drain one before the other one is recharged. (waiting for it to finish, so I have some time to kill). I just ordered the eGo which is very well reviewed, and not too daunting for a beginner.

The only real hesitation I would point to is that V2 uses 808 threads, while most of the intermediate and advanced ones that I've seen use the 510. If you think you'll want to upgrade in the future or tinker with your setup, you might consider that. I didn't think of that, so none of the existing carts and chargers I have are compatible with the ego I just bought, so I had to buy new chargers and carts

I do not have their rechargeable case, but I do know they have them, but can't vouch for their quality, but everything else has been good.

Welcome to ECF!

There is a ton of information about e-cigarettes on this website. A lot of helpful people that are willing to provide knowledge and support. A lot of opinions. ;)

First off, I'd like to recommend that you find the link at the very top of this page called the InfoZone. You will find a lot of useful information there for someone new to vaping like yourself. This will help you with the lingo of terminolgy that people will throw at you - some of us forget what it was like when we first started coming here.

Have you looked at Smokeless Image yet? They are a reputable and popular online company often recommended by experienced vapors here on ECF. It's who I got my first starters kit with and helped me stop smoking within one week of beginning e-cigarettes. This makes my eigth monthe smoke free.

Anyway, this company caters to the beginning and mid-level vaping community. All of their equipment is compatible with each other, so that eliminates a lot of potential issues that beginners might have with other companies. They offer cartomizers with juice flavors already in them and also offer empty ones that you fill yourself from bottled e-juice. They offer batteries that are only slightly larger than a real cigarette that are adequate for beginners. That will be good to get you off of cigarettes.

After 1-2 months you likely will be looking for a bigger battery, like their X2 (which is the same size battery that the eGo's are), for longer battery life and better performance. But you aren't ready to hear that yet. Below is a size comparison of their products compared to the size of a cigarette.

There is a very active sub-forum here consisting primarily of current Smokeless Image customers. Smokeless Image
Should you chose Smokeless Image as the provider of you vaping needs, that would be a nice place to hide out to ask questions as everyone there is already familiar with the equipment. Feel free to visit and ask questions, of just lurk in the background to get a feel for things both over there or here.

Just a couple of quick facts to finish up. Vaping can work for you if you are sincere about quitting smoking. Not only does it replace the nicotine that we are dependent upon while we wean ourselves away from cigarettes. It has two things that other nicotine substitutes do not have. Vaping allows us to continue the deeply engrained ritual of the hand-to-mouth behavior that we unconsciously enjoy with cigarettes. It also allows us to inhale a warm water vapor that may satisfy the need to fill our mouth and lungs like cigarette smoke. These things are just as important to me as the nicotine.

The bigger the battery, the better the performance, and the more actual satisfaction you will experience.

Always have extra batteries. Extra charged batteries. And plenty of e-juice liquid. No charged batteries or no e-liquid = no vaping. Don't get caught without either if you don't want an excuse to run out and get a pack of cigarettes.

It's ok to smoke when beginning to vape, but limit your smoking to 2-4 a day. Less if you can. When you feel the need for one, vape heavier or more frequently. Its ok to vape as much as you feel like. Eventually the cigarettes will become less satisfying to the point that you actually prefer vaping more.

Good luck with vaping. :vapor:
