completely new... and lost

Sorry, I should have been provided more information in my previous post. I don't have any problem with retail in Toronto, there are a few places close to me. What I would like is retail stores in The Hague, Netherlands or surrounding areas. I will be there in 2 weeks and thought that I would like to see what, if anything, would be different in Europe. I used the ECF E Cigarette Store Locator but it seems more geared for North America. Nothing shows for Netherlands. Can any members from Netherlands help with where they get their supplies/accessories?

First, don't feel bad about being "lost". That's completely normal. Fifteen months ago, I blundered in here absolutely baffled. :)

Fortunately, ECF has tons of folks happy to pass on what they learned. A year ago, I didn't know a 510 from a French fry. Now I DIY my own liquids and sling jargon all over. :)

Hang out, ask questions--even if you worry they're "dumb" questions, you'll find your corner of the rather large and sometimes intimidating world o' vape.

That said...

The products that "look like" a cig are going to disappoint. For one, their batteries are too small and under powered. I started with Blu and almost lost my mind swapping batteries constantly. A lot of start trying to find a close match to our former habit, pretty much nobody stays there. An eGo with refillable "clearomizers" like the Kanger EVOD (which became my favorite before I got an advanced widget) is what I'd consider a "starter".

No, you are not at all limited to any one source for liquids. The problem that can crop up with "cig-a-like" units is the cartridge ("cartomizer") that holds the juice. You have to know, for one, which screw threads the batteries use. The 510 standard is maybe the most common and widely supported. Whichever you use, you can buy empty cartomizers and fill them yourself. Not hard but kinda tedious I think. I switched pretty fast to tank like systems where refilling is "squirt juice in" and that's about it.

I would suggest using something other than FastTech for your first set up. The shipping time will frustrate you.

Are you near any B&M (brick and mortar) vape shops?

101Vape has been amazingly fast (and relatively comparable prices to fasttech - $26 for the VV3 express kit and $40 for the MVP2 starter kit. Ordered Friday evening, and it showed up TODAY (2500 miles away - not bad for USPS) Tanks are a little more expensive than fasttech, but not by a huge amount. DesertVapes supposedly good place too.

I ended up buying a Clayton Elite on impulse from a gas station. It suits my needs perfectly - good vapor production, long battery life, and it doesn't leak. I'm still very new to all this but it seems very similar to the ego. I didn't even know until recently that there were refillable ecigs. That was the main thing that drew me here in the first place.

You might try here: Europe Forum

But, first I would recommend starting another thread in the New Members forum with a title like 'Any B&Ms in or near Netherlands?', something to catch the attention of someone who might know the answer.

Good luck.
