I know the iClear 10 isn't considered a very good clearo (and that would be an understatement), but it's about the only clearo that works well size-wise as an iClear 10S replacement.

However, I can't seem to make them work at all: I bought a box of 5, and out of the 5, one of them sort of works with *very* fluid juice, and the other 4 don't seem to work at all. The juice doesn't seem to wick up to the coil. I hit the button, even a split second, and *wham* - dry hit. Not even a little bit of juice or anything, just dry hits.

The only way to make them work for a few seconds is to drip a little liquid directly onto the coils. But as soon as that's gone... dry hits. As in, cough-your-lung-and-retch-for-five-minutes, atrocious dry hits. It's like the wicks are missing entirely, yet they're there and they look wet all the way up.

Is there a secret to making these things perform, even a little bit, before I throw them all in the trashcan ?

Have you been tilting them upside down to fill the wicks? In particular, after you fill them, let them sit upside down for a few minutes before using them, so that the wick in the coil gets completely saturated.

Having said that, I prefer BCC's because they don't have this problem as much as the long-wicked TCC's seem to.

Yes, I've tried letting the juice sit there for an hour, swishing the liquid inside, shaking the clearo, forcing the juice up by sucking hard on the tip, letting the clearo sit upside down for a while - no joy.

I've had top-coil clearos that had a hard time drawing up liquid, but I've never had one that flat out refused to let any of it reach the coil. It's not like they work only a little, they just plain don't work at all. Amazing! Considering how good and trouble free the 10S is, the 10 is a huge letdown.

Really surprised to hear that since I've used every top coil innokin clearo besdies the 10's and I've never had that problem.. In fact the new iclear16B's are some of the best performing smaller sized clearos I've used.. Sorry to hear you are having a bad experience. Obviously those are the cheapest ones made so I would maybe try something built a tad better

I hear yah.. Probably just a bad batch then.. My friend owns a B&M and he uses those for testing flavors.. never heard of a dry hit in any of them and he has about 20 setup.

Could be a bad batch. I'm a little wary of ordering more to find out though. As they say, fool me once...

Oh well, I can always reuse them for parts: the 510 connectors have got to be useful for some project or other :)
