Concerns about potential nicotine poisoning/thick vs thin liquid longevity

I just got into this refillable stuff a couple days ago. Is it dangerous if you get a little liquid on your skin here and there? I did immediately flush with water, but still.
Also, is there danger in malfunctioning products that might put juice in your mouth? If you taste the juice more stongly than normal, is that bad?

As far as thick vs thin, does one burn more quickly than the other?

I got one liquid from a local store that was very thick and I don't know what the PG/VG was. The next day I received stuff from ECBlend that was 50%PG/50%VG and was about half as thick. I'm going to let it steep for a while. Does it get thicker when it steeps?

Sorry for being overwhelming, but I myself am overwhelmed.

Hi boldfacts, I'm no expert, but nicotine can be absorbed through your skin, so I always rinse it off as soon as possible, I don't panic, I just prefer to wash it off, if I'm going to absorb nicotine I want to do it by vaping. I have gotten juice in my mouth occasionally, I find it very unpleasant and rinse my mouth out, again as soon as possible. I vape 24mg and 18 mg and have had no ill effects from some on my skin or in my mouth, but I do flush it away. It is my understanding that PG is thinner and gives you more of a throat hit, while VG is thicker and produces more vapor. The juices I have purchased so far are 50/50 pg/vg or 70/30 pg/vg I do not think that the juice gets thicker while steeping, steeping is more about flavor. As far as tasting the juice goes, I don't think it's bad, as long as you don't actually have juice in your mouth. I am very careful about storing my juice, I do not want any children or pets to get into it, it could seriously harm them or kill them if they drank it. Also be sure to drink plenty of water when you vape as it is dehydrating. Hopefully someone one with more experience than me, will offer their advice. Everyone is very nice here and I sure found it overwhelming in the beginning and sometimes still do, so ask away and enjoy your vape!

SASmith, I basically got everything answered through your post combined with my own experiences in the short time since my post (this whole vaping process, I learn more every time I vape, it seems).

The one question that remains is, does thick or thin burn quicker or the same?

I'm also considering buying some kind of dripper and maybe cleaning products?

I really don't know if one burns faster than the other, I have never used a dripper, so I can't help you there, although I have heard that some people think they get much more flavor that way and I haven't bought any special cleaning products, so far I have just used hot water to clean my tanks. Hopefully someone else will answer those questions for you and in a very short time I'll be asking you questions!

I think SASmith answered all your other questions, so I'll take a stab at this one. Assuming the same delivery device and the same voltage, a thinner juice seems like it should vaporize a little more easily. But I doubt it's enough to make a significant difference. You'll want to figure out what mix gives you the trade-off between throat hit and vapor product that suits your preferences best. And it may well vary for different flavors. So far I like fruity/dessert juice at 50:50 and tobacco/herby juice to be a bit higher PG, but I'm still experimenting.

Sorry for being overwhelming, but I myself am overwhelmed.

It seems to me like everyone here is so happy to be vaping instead of smoking and happy to do whatever they can to help others do the same. :)

i use everclear and q-tips/ paper towels for cleaning. running tanks/ parts under hot water works too then swish some everclear so it dries faster. how fast you go through liquid depends on what you are running. my iclears are good but a pain to keep the wicks wet. my protank depends on what head i have in it. been running a ribbon kanthal with ss mesh and use a bit more than stock heads. just got a cartomizer with a tank and i really like it. seems to use a little less juice than others. the thicker VG blends wick slower so you run the risk of dry hits.

never really worried about juice getting on my skin or in my mouth. i have licked it off my fingers when filling tanks. i vape 12-16 most of the time. i did get some 36 on my wrist and cleaned it off right away when i was mixing some juice.

I picked up a couple 510 attys for dripping this week. This one is working fairly well, but I am kind of regretting not buying the RDA instead. My research had led me to think the 510 would be better for a complete noob like myself, but I've since watched tons of videos on rebuilding cores and it doesn't look intimidating at all now. *shrug* YMMV

I change flavors a LOT since I'm still trying to figure out what I like. I'm using mostly replaceable head devices now (kanger protank and CE5s) and dish soap and water are enough to get even the strongest flavors out of the housings. So what I do is pull the heads, put a fresh one in and add juice! Then I take the core toss it in a shot glass with enough PGA (generic everclear) to cover any wicks and let them sit for at least an hour, but usually much longer (I keep plenty of cores, so I'm in no hurry, and I can always toss more cores into the glass until I get low on spares) then after it's good and soaked I rinse them in hot water and allow them to dry. Also, look into dry burning (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-think-you-should-dry-burn-newbie-newbie.html) depending on what you're using, that might be very useful.

I was a pipe smoker many years ago and condensation and tobacco juice in the pipe would always leak down into my mouth. Nasty stuff! I have gotten E juice in my mouth and it tastes just as bad, rinsed it out of my mouth and cleaned out the drip tip and kept on. Don't think we get enough to be harmful, just don't drink the stuff. If it's on the hands just rinse it off with hot water and soap, again I don't think it's that harmful on your skin, but I don't think it smells all that good either (tobacco flavor).
I used to have stained fingers from smoking cigs, all gone now since I switched to ecigs, but that didn't readily wash off.

I think if you put, say, 1 ml of e-liquid into your carto and are going to consume it by inhalation soon and don't consider this harmful, how come that small fraction of this 1 ml to be harmful on skin? Of course, this could be different if we are talking about concentrated nicotine liquid, say, 100-200 mg/ml. In any case it is a good idea to wash it off as soon as possible.

I don't want to flood this place with all my newb topics, so I'll just continue this one.

So let me get this straight. In the simplest terms, if I have Kanger EVOD eGO Bottom Coil Clearomizer then I wait until it stops working right or smells burnt. Then if I wanted to I could simply buy Atomizer Head for Kanger EVOD eGo Bottom Coil Clearomizer and have all I need?

I intend to clean, but for when the time comes, I'm asking does the atomizer head have all I need to keep going?

Yep, that's all you need. What you can also do when you feel ready to, is to just replace the wick when it's done. Here's a great tutorial on gurgling issues, but it shows in great detail how to replace the wicks. If you learn how to re-wick, you'll definitely save money.

I went to a site to buy some wicks and it said that it's dangerous and you need to know science and stuff. So you can't just take the wick out and stick another one in there that's the same width and length?

They may be talking about coil rebuilding..with that you do have to know more about electricity, conductivity, etc.

TBH I haven't done it yet, but a lot of people here change out their wicks--they use a particular yarn from Walmart of all places, so it can't be that complicated. I'm sure someone will be able to respond with first-hand knowledge.

Or, you can put "re-wick" or something similar in the search bar and see what results come up.

If, after having 2 eyelids full of 18mg Unicorn Blood that shot out from the bottle while refilling my Protank at eye level, didn't kill or maim me. I'm sure a drop or two of 36 and below nic liquid won't. That doesn't mean you shouldn't clean it off. If you work with 100mg nic liquid...I'm told thats extremely toxic and that gloves, respirator, extreme caution needs to be taken.

(I did have some wickedly bloodshot eyes, massive pressure behind my eyes, and a splitting headache for 4-5 hours.)
