Hello.

So basically you drip a few drops in the mouth piece, smoke it, and then add a few more drops? If that is the case, then you would need to carry a bottle of juice with you all the time?

What am I missing? I can't imagine who would want that when you could just get a clearomizer tank, fill it and be good to go all day.

Sorry still very new to this and trying to understand it all.

Any information about drip tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Dripping produces the ultimate in vapor and flavor, more than any tank atty can produce. Of course, straight dripping can be a pain. You do need to carry juice with you. That's why I use what I use, the Reo. It holds 6ml of juice onboard, and you press the bottle, or squonk, and the juice feeds up to a bottom Fed dripping atty on top. The excess juice goes back down to the bottle so you are left with a nicely wet wick without a bunch of excess liquid up top to cook. Simplifies dripping and takes vaping to a whole new level.

Drippers are a whole subculture of the vaping community.
Some believe they get better flavor and vapor from drippers, I strongly disagree but thats my opinion.
Cloud chasing clowns use drippers because of the more open air flow to achieve massive pointless clouds as some sort of witless child like competition for for the weak minded.
Some use modified drippers in a different fashion as bottom feeder atomizers in combination with bottom feeding devices ( See Reo)
In which do produce an excellent flavor to vapor ratio.

I think you are confusing drip tips with dripping atomizers or RDAs (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers). A drip tip is basically just a mouthpiece that is mounted on a clearomizer or atomizer.

An RDA or dripping atomizer has no tank to store juice, just a coil and wick inside a chamber.

One reason people use an RDA or dripping atomizer is flavor. The flavor is much better.

Yep you're correct about having to carry a bottle of juice all the time if you're an RDA (dripper) user. Depending on the build.... you can get anywhere from 3 hits to 15 hits from 5 drops of liquid. They produce great flavor and can produce huge amounts of vapor, again depends on the "build" (coil & wick)

IMO... dripping on the go is a PITA. I prefer RTA's (rebuildable tank atomizer) Like the Kayfun. It produces great flavor and good vapor.

It's called a drip tip but more correctly it could be called a lip tip or a mouthpiece.
For example, protanks come with metal tips, but I replace them with ceramic tips because I prefer them in my mouth.

So clearomizer tanks often have drip tips but it is just there so you have a replaceable mouthpiece, not for 'dripping'.

The first drippers where very small disposable things that you would drip on and take a vape, but nowadays an rda takes not just a few drops but more like a squirt and lasts as long or longer than a cigarette before you need another squirt.

So with cigarettes, you light up, and smoke for 5 or 10 minutes.
With an rda, you squirt in some juice and vape for 5 or 10 minutes.

With cigarettes, you have to carry a pack of cigarettes.
With an rda, you have to carry a bottle of juice.

RDA.... doesn't have a tank, just a coil with wicking material inside a chamber. AR_stillare.jpg Stillare dripper

RBA (I prefer to call them RTA's).... does have a tank. Cloupor 30w.jpg kayfun lite plus RTA

Thanks for the info guys. Just a quick follow up question. Getting a little baffled with the acronyms. RTA and RBA are the same thing, both rebuildable with tanks?

RBA is ReBuildable Atomizer; is can be an RDA or RTA, but usually refers to RTA.
RDA is Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer; it refers specifically to the drippers; they have no tank.

RTA specifically refers to an RBA tank; Rebuildable Tank Atomizers.

There are now more RDTA's coming out too.
These are basically RDA's with an onboard tank, and you have to press something to perform the drip or squirt of the liquid onto the coil, so it's a one handed operation instead of 2 hands with a separate bottle.

Examples of RDTA's sometimes called semi automatic drippers are:
REO, 3D RDA, Big Dripper. Vmod.

Both are drippers. One is top fed and the other is bottom fed. Please tell me, how does a bottom fed RDA produce "excellent flavor to vapor ratio" where as a top fed RDA doesn't produce "better flavor and vapor"? Sounds like you are contradicting yourself to me.

Cloud chasing clowns use drippers because of the more open air flow to achieve massive pointless clouds as some sort of witless child like competition for for the weak minded.

Why all the hate on cloud chasers? I'm not a cloud chaser per se but do love thick, wet plumes. I just don't see the reason to hate on other vapers be they cloud chasers or otherwise. We, as a community, have enough people and agencies attacking us as it is. Why attack each other?

I have used my Kayfun and other rtas and it wasn't until I got into dripping that I found really pronounced flavor. It's true, some people build these God awful builds to blow out massive clouds, but I'm not a cloud chaser. I do it for the flavor, and prefer if it didn't produce big clouds. In fact, my RDAs that I use, I keep the air flow regulated down to enhance the flavor more and reduce the volume of vapor cloud. Another side benefit of my bottom Fed dripping, no leaks! Most all tanks I've used including my $100 Kayfun lite plus developed aggravating leaks. This is only my experience and opinion, of course. Not everyone experiences the same thing as everyone else.

Thank you very much indeed for this information :thumb:

I never knew the difference between RDA and RBA - because I do not build my own coils and prefer purchased atomizers - so thank you very much!

.............................................

To OP:
Yeah, what is called a drip tip nowadays is mainly a mouthpiece. You can also put those on purchased atomizers like the Vivi Nova. Remove ugly looking black plastic drip tip - put on very nice looking drip tip - enjoy :) Those drip tips come in very pretty shapes and colors. Or very nice looking shapes and colors - if you are a man ;)

If you are afraid of getting Shiny Acquisition Syndrome ( :D ) do not - repeat not - look at the gorgeous drip tips in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...forum/336795-molehill-mountain-drip-tips.html

Hehehe :)

He's just upset he can't blow clouds like these.

*blows cloud*

But yeah I agree, I thought that attack on cloudchasing was harsh as ..... I enjoy large quantities of vapor (as do many other people I know who don't call themselves "cloudchasers"). RDA's/larger vapor production is what got me off cigarettes. If I was sticking with CE4's and gurgly ProTank heads, I definitely wouldn't have quit cigarettes.

I have absolutely nothing wrong with the amount of vapor production during casual vaping no matter how big or small as long as the person is satisfied with their vaping experience, and not on th3 coffin nails.
However just standing around blowing massive clouds just for the sake of trying to see who can produce the biggest IS childlike and mindless, and is a major contributing factor as to why vaping in public places is under attack in many locations, I believe that allot of the negative publicity surrounding vaping has been as a result of irresponsible people acting childlike in public.

Wait! You're telling me that cloud chasing competitions are held in public places where there are other people besides vapers? Where at? The mall? Movie theaters? Restaurants? Yeah, didn't think so. The majority of the public has no clue about cloud chasing competitions.

Vaping in public places is under attack for the simple fact that vaping "looks" exactly like smoking. There is no other reason.

I frequent several establishments that allow vaping. Recently though, one of them has changed their policy to no longer allow vaping at the bar. When I asked why, I was told because other patrons were offended. Patrons that weren't even sitting at the bar for that matter.

Regardless of what you think of cloud chasing competitions, it is still vaping. Extreme vaping but vaping nonetheless.

I still don't see the reason for the hate. My point stands. Live and let live.

Peace!

Did I at any time say that cloud chasing competitions were held in public places ?
No it is not even close to what I said !
I have been in public places on several occasions where where 2 or more clowns are intentionally, blowing massive clouds to draw attention.
A few weeks ago my wife and I were at the movies and a couple of knuckleheads a few rows up from us were trying compete with each other during the movie, which were in fact disturbing other people, to the point management had to come twice to make them quit, the second time they were warned if they did it again they would have to leave.
I told my wife this is the very childish behavior that contributes to bad publicity in the vaping community.

I vape almost everywhere I go, most people are curious and intrigued, and I'm always getting compliments on the aroma of my vapor.
When I tell people my story of smoking for dang near 30 years, and have not had a smoke in over 2.5 years, my health, breathing, taste buds has all returned to normal, and logically explain how vaping devices work, what ingredients are in my liquids, and insure them that there are second hand vaping effects other than what they can smell, they then want to know where to get one, for themselves or for their friends or family.

My point being if you vape responsibly, and educate those you encounter, the majority of people will accept it or at least tolerate it.

But there are a few of those out there that are just ...., I had a lady come up to me in a parking lot to tell me that vaping was dangerous and would kill me as quick as smoking would, I tried politely to educate her, but she was convinced she right and I was wrong, so finally I said lady I guarantee your ignorance, and prejudice against me minding my own business vaping is far more hazardous to your health than vaping is to my health.
