I'm pretty much leaning towards giving up on the Red Dragon I bought two weeks ago as the throat hit is just too anemic for me

I'm leaning towards either the Joye 510, the Joye eGo, or the Vapor King. Three things are big for me:

1. Throat Hit
2. Throat Hit
3. Battery Life

FYI- I'm a pack a day Parliament smoker so that should give you a clue what king of smoker I am. Can anyone help which would be the best?

Yes skip the 510 because you will find that you'll love it, but then hate swapping out the batteries and thus spend more money on getting an eGo etc. Also the eGo is simply a 510 with a larger capacity battery.

Typically the 510 to most offers the best throat hit, and generally this is true. You should also consider the juice you use plays a very large part of that, nicotine level should be considered and in general some flavors don't provide a big throat hit in my case most of my sweet flavors dont.

Yeah think of it this way, the 510 atomizer is the part that turns your liquid into vapor and all your doing it attaching it to a battery and then putting a mouth piece on it. So the 510 atty (atomizer) being powered by the standard 510 battery will last you roughly 1 hr to 2 hr's or less or more depending on how much you vape on it. Now take that same 510 atty and attach it to an eGo battery and it will last you much much longer. It doesnt supply more power to the atty just longer lasting power.

eGo is just a 510 with a longer lasting battery no other difference. Well... the eGo comes with a cone attachment that makes it look slick, it sometimes can cause the vapor to be a little warmer and can tighten up the draw on the inhale. It can be used with or with out the cone.

Yeah just depends, it can really wake you up! Also if you use a lower nicotine amount for awhile (first part of the day) then later switch back to your higher level nicotine juices you will get some good throat hits from it again.

Some morning I start off with low nic Green Tea flavor 8mg, then by time Im on my first break at work I switch it out to some 24mg juice and it just burns so good.

Honestly I find doing a french inhale with some of my higher mg nicotine juices provides a nice tingly burn through the nose and I enjoy that 10x more than the typically throat hit.

You're going to love your eGo. I bought the 510 and then upgraded to the eGo. Suggest you go straight w/ an eGo (check out Cignot...unbelievable service and good prices...78 for 2-eGo kit).

IMO, the juice has way more to do with th than the hardware. Personally I like tons of vapor with little or no th, so I like a high vg content liquid. Right now I am vaping a 24 mg nic juice from Cignot that literally obscures my monitor every time I exhale, but has no (as in zero, nada) th. This is my all day vape. I've also tried some lower nic juice w/ th that literally made me gag, and I smoked 1-2 pks/day (mostly Marlb red and green) for 45 yrs.

So, it's all about the juices for th IMO.

Will I need to order anything beyond juice? Some people mentioned burning up atomizers and needing to order a new one every other week.

I started recently, so I can't tell you anything about atty lifespan. Some people here have recommended cleaning the atty about every other day, which I do. My first pv was the eGo kit (two attys, two batteries, five pre-filled carts, and one wall charger). I forgot to get juice! So I had to wait a couple of days to get started.

Be sure to blow the primer out of the attys! It tastes terrible!

I've been pretty disappointed with inconsistency in vapor, but I just now tried the HighPing cart mod, and so far it seems to be working great!

EGo and HighPing cart mod would get my vote . . . so far.

I'm going to order the adaptor so that I can run the battery charger off of the car cigarette lighter for when I'm on the road. I think it's only about $5.00 from Cignot. Other than the eGo kit and juice, the adaptor should be all you might need.

Think of the shipping costs I would have saved if I had been more organized!

If you go the eGo route... look into Low Resistance (LR) Atomizers (Atty's)

The LR atty allows for simulated 5v vaping on a ~3.7v battery, the eGo is a perfect option for using a LR atty IMO... using a LR atty i get aprox 6-7hrs of fairly heavy vaping out of each of my eGo batteries.. using a standard batter i get 12-13hrs of steady vaping. YMMV

The eGO is a definite "entry" level kit IMO

Edited: Highping's cart mod: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/79418-highping-cart-mod-simple-gets.html

I have used this mod in conjuction with "blue foam" mod,, and added a modded straw to it also... i have used this modded mod with great success.. i however DO prefer direct dripping
