Confused by different types of ecigs

Ok, so I'm relatively new to the site but I've been vaping for a short while (Dec '11) using what's been available at the local convenience store. As I'm going through and researching the various types, I seem confused as what to start with. I've only used low end batteries with prefilled cartos.

Whats the difference between like the eGo-T, eGo-C, and the eGo Twist? What would be a good kit to start with? I understand the difference between VV and fixed, but am completely lost when it comes to what resistance I should use, the ohms, etc...

I think I'd like to start with a kit, but also want to go with a VV..l any suggestions?

A good starting point for devices is 2.5ish ohms. This allows a lot of options for voltage up to about 5 volts.

If you start with an iTaste kit, it will tell you the optimum voltage range a particular device should be used at.

Same here, I am also a bit confused, despite having been vaipng for 2 years, I have just stuck with my trusty 510. But seems I am way behind the times with my hardware, as it is hard to get replacement batteries etc now, so I need to upgrade and am facing the same confusion.

I want something easy to refill, and from what I see on youtube, some of the newer ones are quite a faff to refill. I got some advice from someone who told me that joyetech are bringing out a new one called the ecab very soon and that looks pretty good, I am hanging on for that i think. Supposed to be easy enough to refill too.

With all the choices out it is hard for anyone to make a suggestion without knowing things like, how much do you smoke, do you want a cig look a like. It is very easy to say get this or get that, but if it is not what you want then it would be a waist and wind up setting there unused.

i would suggest a ego t kit with a extra twist battery.you need back ups.i like the t a and b,here is example of of the a EGO-C 1100 Tank System - Complete Kit

The ego twist is a battery only, this battery is a varriable voltage battery able to be used with anything with 510 threading.

The ego-t is a tank system where you fill a little plastic tank, push it into the cone shaped atomizer where a spike pushes up into the little tank and wicks the juice into the atomizer. The ego-t system uses ego batteries which will also fit anything with 510 threading. The ego-t, which I started out with, was rather prone to leaking, and the atomizer cones are $14 to replace.

The ego-c is also a tank system that works like the ego-t, the difference is that the cone is the atomizer housing rather than the entire atomizer which makes replacing the atomizer cheaper. The ego-c system also uses ego batteries which will fit anything with 510 threading. The ego-c, which I also used, did not leak while I used the system except when I had it at work with me, but I work n a very hot kitchen and the heat was thinning the juice. Outside of work I did not have any leaks. A pack of 5 atomizers for the ego-c is $25.

If I could start from the beginning, I would purchase a Kgo kit, KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

For a VV kit...what about a vtube? With the code vtube30 you can get all you need to get going for $52 shipped. If vaping is totally new to you, and you have no 510 things...than you need a bit more. Apollo VTube Kit

I would suggest another battery, a smoktek tank, and a 5 pack of boge cartos. The only issue with my suggestion IMO is that if the tube itself breaks, you have no backup. For that, I would get a single kgo battert for $20 from elitevaporworks. It's $17 for the battery, and $3 for a charger.

Hey all! Thanks for the replies. Again, sorry for lack of info in my initial post, I'll blame that on being a noob here

I used to be a PAD smoker, lights or ultra-lights depending on my mood. I really don't care about whether or not it looks like an analog, in fact, I'd rather it didn't. I'd like for it to last me through the day as I don't want to take a charger to work with me if possible.

@Flyer: I read all of the info on the infozone here, so I know some basics (carto vs. atty; VV vs fixed; etc)

@Jixchel: I took a look at the KGO kit and I think I'll probably go that direction to start. Is the kit going to include what I need to get started? It looked like it, but I don't know if I need to add anything else or not. I'll probably end up getting more juice than comes with the kit, just because I'm really interested in trying out new flavors.

Get some cartomizers and liquid. The Kgo can handle low resistance as well as standard resistance cartos. You might like the EMDCC cartos. Hold lots of liquid and hoosiers has a good price on them. The EMDCC is much larger than a standard size carto.
