Ok I'm new so forgive my misuse of language.

I got an ego-v like this one $17.91 EGO-V 650mAh USB Rechargeable Battery for E-Cigarette - adjustable voltages at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and a Kanger T3S and everything worked great except the tank leaks.

When back to the shop they replaced the atomizer(cartridge, cartomizer??) and also picked up an ego-c Twist and Kanger mini Protank 2.

I get home and I tried to use the ProTank on the ego-v it will not fire, I screw it down and I don't think the atomizer is touching the connection point on the battery. So I tried everything and here is what I get.
ego-v to protank 2 - doesn't work
ego-v to T3S - works
ego-v to joytech tank that came with the ego-c - doesn't work
ego-c to protank 2 - works
ego-c to T3S - doesn't work
ego-c to joyetech tank - works BUT
when I use the joyetech tank it pushes the battery post down on the ego-c and then nothing works but the joyetech tank.

I saw the post about wiggling the battery post back up but... really that can't be good, eventually isn't it just going to keep falling down?

Do I take the stuff back? should I get out the dremel and sand down the top edge of the mods so everything works?

Is all the e-cig stuff this fiddly?

Adjusting the battery post is normal, it should not reduce the life of the battery. Be careful when you put tanks on to NOT over tighten them, they only need to be snug. This will help keep from pushing the battery pin back down.

Sounds like there *MAY* be a problem with the joyetech tank, not sure though. I would take EVERYTHING back to the shop and show them the problem. They are the experts, and should be able to help you fix it on the spot.

Hope this helps!

Stopped by the shop where I bought the stuff. Turns out the Kranger atomizer, the replaceable part is adjustable. They are slotted on the bottom for just this type of adjustment.

No, they aren't. The slot is for air to reach the air tube while pressed against the flat battery contact. That piece isn't threaded, it's simply a small post wedged into a rubber cup (you see the lip of the cup and would think it's a gasket) at the base of the coil head. To adjust the reach of the center contact, tap it in further with something.

The eGo battery is exactly the same. The center contact is a small metal post suspended in a rubber cup. It does not touch the battery, it'simply floating there, the power is supplied by a wire soldered to the bottom of it from the button PCB (printed circuit board). Pulling it up and pushing it down won't hurt the mod.

The only fix for this is to pull your battery post back up when it won't fire.

When you screw on an atomizer, stop when you feel resistance as the center posts touch. Then, tighten 1/16 to 1/8 turn. Don't crank it or you will experience the problem you have now. Since multiple atomizers won't work, the problem is the center contact on the battery. It's suspended in a silicone tube so that the center post won't touch the outer contact and short.

It's not fragile, but you can't crank it down. Work it back up and be gentle and you'll have many happy days of vaping.

Wow OK thanks. Sorry I guess I was misinformed. I'm not sure what happened the first few days, things were not working, tanks were leaking. I ended up watching some videos, then pulled everything apart, cleaned the tanks and saw how it all works and fits together. No problems now... Well I think we need a couple spare batteries but that's another story.
