Confused over 510 atomizer choices...

I've had a 510 for a little over a month and even after cleaning my attys I'm still not getting good vapor. I would like to try something of an upgrade over a standard atty and use my mega batteries. I don't want to drip or use tanks. I'm a bit confused with the amp ratings on the aftermarket ones.

Any recommendations for a decent upgrade over a standard joye atomizer?

Hello and welcome to ecf....if you are using a standard 510 xl mega and it is around 280 mah you can't really use lr attys....not enuff power....the reg 510 t attys might work tho. except you said you didn't want tanks......sorry unless you upgrade your battery your options seeem to be limited.

fraid so.....try a 510 atty tank. don't get the lr ones. If you decide to try them, let us know, someone here can walk you, talk you thru.....or maybe it is the liquid that is the problem.......different liquids don't always produce the same vapor....what do you use now?

Honestly I don't know what brand. I got it from a local store and the bottles aren't labeled with a mfg, just flavor/strength and a warning label. I got a usa mix, RY4, cherry and lote green arrow.

An idea....you could get some vg from walmart....make sure it says pure grade, safe for human comsuption, and mix a drop or two into your existing liquid.....see if vapor improves...or you could use distilled water, just a drop so you don't dilute flavor and see if there is an improvement.....

I tend to wonder what else is going on here- 510s have a lot of potential pitfalls, but lack of vapor is rarely one of them if atties and bats are functioning properly.

Did you get good vapor in the beginning? (If so, I'm wondering if your atties are wearing out or/and you didn't quite get them clean.)

If you've never had good vapor from this setup, I'm wondering if you're not quite set up right, maybe if the atty is too wet or not wet enough...

Nah it worked fine for over a month. Still works "ok" but not great. That's what leads me to believe that the atty are wearing out. Cleaning helped a bit, but it still isn't as much vapor as there was when they were new. I drain them every night as well.

Basically, time for new attys?

I'm going on a trip Wednesday of next week, any site you guys can recommend that ships fast to the east coast?

Attys do not have amps. Attys have ohms

And you have little choice other than brand - you need to use standard resistance atomizers or cartomizers. You can use 510 or 306 threaded (but 306 has small carts so only try if you want to drip - 306 needs its own 306 drip tip. You should only drip on manual batteries)

510 mega xl batteries are 280mah. If you ever get a battery 450mah+ then you can use low resistance (low ohms) atomizers and cartomizers too. This would include Ego and Riva 510, mods with 510 threading etc (i.e. not slim batteries)

Your juice is cheap Dekang Chinese juice, probably 100% PG - "USA Mix" is one of their flavor names (used to be called something similar to Marlboro). If you want more visible vapor then you need juices with some VG in their base, like 70pg/30vg or 80pg/20vg. If you want more hit you need either more nicotine or bigger batteries so you can use LR attys and cartos. (heat enhances TH)

You could also buy some Boge standard resistance cartomizers while you are there. With thin juices I can get 2 weeks good use out of a Boge if I keep it damp. It's the way I vape 510 95% of the time. However I don't really recommend them on a trip if you have auto batteries - the place where a cartomizer might leak is right over the place juice can damage or kill an auto battery. I got tired of screwing with and cleaning atomizers. I only use them for testing juices now, or occasionally vaping by dripping w/ Joye 306 atty and 306 drip tip on manual 510.

For 510 atomizers, I recommend buying them in bulk from vaporkings.com. Really good price on a 10 pack, they work really well with my 510 gear, and last a week to a month before needing cleaning/replacing.

You can use your mega 510 batteries with the 510 atty, just not LR attys. Do a rinse out with alcohol and blow out and then soak them overnight blow out again rinse with water blow out and let dry or blow out and prime and use. i have 510 atty's that last for months.
