Why? I think you got some very good answers. I'm hoping they make sense to you.

All in fun -- the one I haven't seen --"It's because everyone else is doing it". I'm also glad to see that some have posted that they use other devices for convenience as well as their "mech" toys. I'm sure this is quite common, but not often stated.

And, quite seriously, a lot depends on your personal life style and actual vaping needs. I happen to prefer the safety protection most current vari's offer as well as the convenience of more "plug and play" atomizing devices.

Well, I'm relatively new to mechanicals. My switch was solely based on illogical "shiny-itis" syndrome, or GAS (gear acquisition syndrome), lol. Prior to buying my Reo Grand and shiny "Chinese clone mech" setup, I was exclusively running VV/VW devices (Spinner, Twist, and MVP2). I really do like the variability of those batteries. Like you say, having different ohm coils are easily handled by a simple twist or button push. No more trying to find the right ohm coil in stock.

That said, I do love my mech mods, simply because they're different, and difficult, and require tinkering. It fulfills my hobby need. But I rock the Spinner or MVP2 w/ a Kanger clearo on a daily basis for effective and effortless nicotine delivery.

Mech or VV? Kinda like the Provari/Reo debate. None is "better" per se. Just diff'rent strokes, ya know? And some of us have a problem with "shut up and take my money"

GAS ... I love it, and suffer from it as well

I recently made the switch to mechs, and I love it .. I don't even use my VV devices very much. I don't really need the VV function because I never vaped over 4volts anyway, and with builds between 1.2-1.5ohms, the power output of 3.7-4.2volts is perfect for how I vape, even as I my sweet spot is 3.7-3.9v.

I like that there aren't any buttons, or displays on the body, and like OP said THE VARIETY of body styles, and switch designs that mechs offer is what has me sold.

Once upon a time I feared the mech, today I wholeheartedly love and embrace it ... I am having the best vape experience as a result. :)

15 Mechanical Mods

7 are running Kick modules(various manufacturers)

The only real down side to a Kick is No display to Visually confirm output per your adjustment.
That said, it is easy to become familiar with adjustment and find the spot you enjoy vaping.
If for some reason you need to make adjustments, the kick will NOT need to be removed from most mods. Most have top caps that are removable from the main tube. The Kick rest at the top of the tube and in contact with the Center pin of the Top Cap.

It takes me less than a minute to tweak a setting and get back to Vaping on several of my Mods.

As to No sub ohm Vaping - Simple - Remove Kick and go!

Even though no display, a simple in-line Voltage checker between the Mod and Atomizer will give any needed data. Then may be removed.

I vape primarily mechs cause there are no electronics to fail.

Additionally, I build my coil to suit the vape I want. An 18650 battery provides me with a consistent vape for 6-8 hours of use.

I also like that with my mechs I use, you can wash em in the sink and they can take a hell of a beating and keep right on producing power to the heater.

That means I don't need to carry ANYTHING but the mod for an entire day of vaping. That's a great freedom :)
