Hi im new to rda and im trying to learn how all this system works, so i watched some videos on youtube
And i tried to compare steam engine to other youtube videos that show how much wraps u need compare to the ressistence you wants
So i looked up on this video:

And i entered in the ressitance section in steamengine 0.1ohm and it said i need to do only 2 wraps while in the video he does 6 with two wires, so im a little bit confused if someone can explain to me that will be great
Btw i put 24awg on steam engine and 3mm, and no im not trying to do a 0.1ohm myself i just trying to understand how everything works, thanks.

He's using Nichrome. Which wire material did you select in the steamengine web app?
He's also making parallel wire coils, so you would have to put in "quad coil" into steam engine to come close to what he does (dual parallel coils = 4 coils).

Ohhh okay i see, i thought that dual coils means im wrapping two wires together, thanks!

"Dual coils" means two individual coils. Two wires wrapped together as a single coil is called "parallel".

Which is a drop down from the wirewiz page.

I always use the wirewiz one - I think newcomers overlook it and wonder why their resistances are hoop a jooped.

Extra: if you're trying to calculate clapton resistance, change the core to parallel and add as many strands as needed.

Ok.. I got similar results with steam engine as to what you saw with your video. Here's the settings I plugged in.

metric units
Nichrome 80
24awg
quad coil (He is using two parallel coils, so consider it a quad)
target resistance .11
inner diameter of coil 3mm
leg length total 3.0mm

The results go: number or wraps: 6.38 (he did six in the video)

You may want to compare the numbers I put in with the numbers you put in.
