Looking to get a tank system and the more I look the more confused I am..... Will flanged cartos fit all tanks will regular cartos fit tanks that are advertised with flange. Will smoktech tanks take boge etc...

i use mainly boge in my billet box so I want to be able to use them in whatever tank I get. I am not so much concerned about tank material as I am ease of use and filling. I prefer not to have the grommets as I have read they can be a PITA.

I would however like to be ale to use a flanged carto like the pheonix raven in the tank if I want to. Is that possible to have a tank where I can use SR boges as well as a flanged?

i was going to get the premium Pyrex at valley view vapes but they are out of stock. I figured for $19 for a glass tank that is not bad. I would prefer not to go over that. I also noticed that electronictix has their j tanks on sale....hmmm, once again so many choices and not enough knowledge :D

any thoughts

Flanged cartos will NOT fit all tanks. I've got some of these, which a flanged will absolutely fit. I've also got some of those Boge tanks that a flanged carto fits in.

I don't have flanged cartos though. Sure, the tanks can slide up and down the carto, but that hasn't been a problem for me. Even with a flanged carto, the tank slides up so you can refill. Who cares if it can slide down a bit? It won't move far enough to leak, assuming it's on a PV at the time.

The only place you MIGHT run into trouble is pulling a drip tip off the tank when the carto isn't screwed into your PV. Without a flanged carto, there's nothing stopping you from just sliding that carto up through the tank. You'll do it once and always carry a cheap eGo battery to screw a carto into if you need to slip the drip tip off. Biggest use I have for a second battery right now ;)

Valley View Vapes has great reviews on their tanks. There are some really nice pyrex/glass tanks about to hit the market at an awesome price point. The guy is struggling with meeting demand right now, but as soon as they're available online they'll be the go to tank for the price (in my opinion, at least).

Thank you, can you provide a link (if there is one) to some info on the tanks you are speaking of that are about to hit the market and who will they be available through?

Thanks for your help, sounds like for now I might wait for the valley view to come back in stock or look at the orpther ones you have sited.

If you click on the "6" link beside the "blog entries" under by avatar, you'll find several informative and helpful articles dealing with cartotanks, cartomizers, and other juice delivery devices.

Look at the below graphic of two cartotanks side by side, one a standard length tank and the other an XL length tank, with the brand name cartos that will fit those tanks. This is the key to matching a carto to a tank, the length of the tank and the length of the cartomizer.

I would think a flanged carto should fit in any cartotank. The flange is only 1 mm thick, and "might" extend the space between the bottom cap of the tank and the battery device's connector pin. This space is barely noticable unless you are specifically looking for it. You actually want a little space there to allow proper air flow to the cartomizer.

One of the articles in my blog is a complete review of the pyrex cartotanks offered by IBTanked.com. I highly recommend you consider those. High quality, elegant looking, and very affordable.

So the 19mm tube from Ib tanked will fit standard 510 boge cartos right?

*edited....just saw my answer :)
The "19 mm" means the diameter of the tank. That has nothing to do with the length or brand of carto that you use. What is important is the length of the tank and the carto.

If you are keen on using standard length Boge cartos (35mm length) you need to order a standard length tank.

If you desire a longer length tank, you will need to use either a Boge XL carto or Smoktech carto (45mm).

Above are two 19mm diameter IBTanks, the shorter one is a standard length, the taller one is an XL length tank.
