My quest is to duplicate "real smoking" as much as possible, hoping for an easier transition.

I am also hoping to get something that is reliable. I have ordered those wonderful gadgets, like that shower scrubber thing....wonderful idea, turned out to be a piece of junk and it should not be. Anyway I would like to avoid that:)

Do people here sell this stuff, or do you have to get it out there on the web somewhere?

Hanna, please keep in mind that these are not going to give you an "exact" replication of smoking, but it should provide you w/ the nicotine your body is craving as well as the physical act of smoking that our minds are craving. You have been provided an awful lot of information already, and I think that just like me, you are getting far too technical/"in the weeds" and getting more overwhelmed by it. I would suggest that you pick a model that has been well received and proven to work by the members of this forum and just go ahead and place your order. It may not end up being the only e-cig you buy or smoke, as it seems that many vapers have several in their arsenal, because you will become curious as to the pros and cons of the other models out there in comparison to whatever e-cig you purchase.

As for purchasing, there are some "modders" in here who might sell you one of their home-made pieces, but you will need to go the actual suppliers' web-sites to purchase the commercial e-cigs. There is a section in here of suppliers, and therefore, their associated web addresses can be found in there, as well.

Palmetto, I appreciate what you are saying, and I have been reading a LOT here, and trying to learn how this forum works. That is an ongoing project. I am able to find my posts, which was more than I could do day before yesterday so I am making progress. I apologize for being such a pain, I know I am and I would be irritated at me if I were you all. I guess I am in just a bit of a hurry.......I am suddenly a non-smoker and I am not enjoying it in the least. I want to get set-up with the e-cigarette FAST, however I don't want to make a huge mistake that will end up derailing the whole process. So I do apologize, I just ask that you understand how I'm kind of in a hurry;)

Like I said....I think you are getting too overwhelmed w/ the plethora of information/questions/assumptions/opinions in here. I suggest you use this forum to see how people review the different e-cigs and then just use that to make a purchase decision.

Personally, all the research I conducted in here showed the DSE-901 to be one of the best picks for reliability and size and so that is what I purchased and I have not been sorry for it. However, I've only been at it for 3 weeks and I've already been bit by the bug to purchase and try out other types of e-cigs. Do keep in mind that batteries and atomizers can fail, so it is prudent to insure you have extras of these on hand so that you don't suddenly find yourself in a position to "need" to smoke and unable to do so without going back to analog cigarettes.

Good luck! :)

Thanks Hanna for asking so many good questions. I am new to this too and am really ready to jump in. I just want someone to tell me which one to buy to (brand and model and whatever other #'s I might need) because there are too many choices.

Basically, one that is from a trusted company and that makes a good product at a fair price. I smoke about a pack a day so I am guessing that I would need to start with a strong one.

Have you decided on one? Anyone out there who can make an easy recommendation?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have narrowed it down between the DSE 901 or the Titan. The problem with the DSE 901 on the site I am looking at, only comes in black or platinum. I wouldn't mind the platinum but I am concerned about that color being available in the future. If I understand these things correctly the e-cigarette is made up of the battery and the atomizer, so when you get replacements you want to be able to get the same color, unless you're into two tone:) The other problem with it is the mouthpiece end rather than just round.

The problem with the Titan, I'm not sure how long it is. The way they talk about it, it seems like it may be a better product, and it has a round end, which I would prefer. It is more expensive and its parts are more expensive, but do they maybe last longer, therefore worth the extra cost? Still reading:)

Hey Hanna,

It's me again. LOL about your reply. I was hoping that you had made a choice so I could have followed what you did.

Anyway, I decided to jump in and I just purchased the special that was shown by electronic ash on the blog. They had a promotion and it seemed like a fair price (79.00 with promo). You have to pay shipping so the cost is $89.94 Also, the reviews seemed good.

Here is what it includes:

Ultimate DSE901B Starter Kit (Black)
$99.99
The DSE901 (w/Orange LED) Kit contains:

2 x Atomizer
3 x Rechargeable Batteries
1 x Battery Charger
1 x USA Adapter
1 x USB Charger
5 x Assorted Strength Cartridges
10 x Blank Cartridges
1 x Holy Smoke! 30 ml e-liquid your choice flavor in low(6mg), medium(11mg), and high(16mg) nicotine density
1 x Syringe
1 x Carrying case in your choice of Black or Pink
1 x English User Manual

I'll let you know how it goes...... the weird thing was that they didn't ask me what strength I wanted on the site. So, am not sure what I will get.

Good luck in your decision.

Hi again....here is the website I used: electronic-ash.com

I would go with the titan. I have a DuraC by Janty, same thing so is the 510 and the Yeti It is about 1/2 inch longer then a 100 cigg but is lighter then the smaller ones. It also has a round kinda soft plastic mouthpiece which I like because it is more like a smoke to me. They generally come with two complete sets. The batteries are longer lasting then the shorter ones and have very large cartridges.

One thing you will figure out that some of the differences(from analogs) are what makes them so good. Before long a cigarette will be the last thing on your mind because of the difference. It is just another way it weans you off of them. They do indeed have a different feel but again that breaks a habit that is subconcious. Keeping busy with an e-cigg takes your mind off of things like the panic you feel when you realize that you will be out of smokes before you can get more.

These are like the Flowbee's, don't sound right but work really well. Just commit to quiting analogs and not smoking and you will be past the first and hardest week. I never even wanted an analog untill my single atty went cold and I had nothing. Now I can leave home and realize that I only have one battery and will run out before I get home. The craving just becomes less and for me it has become more of a hobby of choice. I got a USB passthrough for my Dura, built a Nicostick real cheap for my RN4081 atty and ordered several one ounce flavors from Loranns to make my own juices.

I still need the nicotine right now but all the other habits are almost gone. I no longer cough amd can hold my breath for more then a minute now, before a single flight of stairs winded the heck out of me. I smoked for more then 35 years and could never quit more then two days without going back untill now. Good luck!!

Shadowdr, thanks, I think I prefer the Titan and what you said about the mouthpiece is really good. Thing for me I don't think it is so much the nicotine as the hand to mouth thing. I will sit with a cigarette between my fingers and be busy reading or watching TV or working at the computer doing whatever and light a cigarette and maybe take 4 puffs on the whole thing. I don't puff hard or inhale deeply. HA if I did that i'd keel over dead on the spot. There are times when I puff on them more than that, but most of the time, no, I just burn them up;/ I'd say I really smoke mas of 6-8 a day, and that is on the high end. So I need to figure out what that is in liquid etc...blah blah....And I want to be sure I can smoke that from the beginning, so I am not taking in more than I need to level this off. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it:)

Shadowdr, does the Titan have an LED light on it? I can't find anything that says that, or what color it would be.
It just depends on where you get it. Most of the manual batteries do not have an LED but they can be had. Some come with one of each kind, ome manual and one auto. All of the auto batteries have an LED.

Hanna,
I got my first ecig Sat, a DSE901, from esmokeyshack.com. It's white, with a regular looking filter & orange light & is a bit larger (& heavier) than an analog 100. I've only vaped a few times now, trying to get the hang of it. I am a light smoker and can see how this can help me quit. My main concern is the nicotine, so I did get the low strength eliquid & plan on going for the zero strengh, which so far is hard to find and plan on making my own liquid.
Don't forget to check for coupons when you order your ecig. Look under Blogs>Strell>ecoupons master list
Good luck
