The story didn't describe any problems that appeared to be caused by a device malfunction. Government regulation of the hardware can't solve the problems caused by "operator malfunction."
Maybe this is a stupid question, but what does a medical device have to do with a food or drug? Or is the FDA a regulating body over EVERYTHING? And how long has that been going on?

If the Pharma industry had their say, the FDA would need to approve everything. I can't believe how quickly they jumped on e cigs, whe doctors in places like Cali, N Jersey and Oregon are and have been writing scripts for one particular drug that has never met the FDA strict standards. Just saying......
