Hi guys,

I have been vaping for around 9 months. I have purchased 3 mods now. Here is the problem I am having with all of them.

When I first get them they work great. You charge the batteries, screw on the atomizer, 5 to 6 drops and bang it pops and you hear the atomizer sizzling really loud. Well after 4 to 8 weeks of use, is usually when the trouble starts. I notice that after using for that period of time that I have to press the button harder and harder to get the atomizer to fire up. Why is this happening?

For example I am using the spark plug now and it worked great, but now I have to press the button as hard as I possibly can and even then I sometimes only hear a little sizzle. It is as if the connection points are going dead or something is touching correctly. I can sometimes rotate the machine 1/8 of inch in circular diameter and press and then it will fire better. Sometimes nothing works. Same exact thing happened with my Prodigy 2.

Does anyone else experience these problems and if so how do you fix it? How do you maintain the new feel to your mods for a long time?

Thanks for any help. Chris J.

I had this experience in the beginning of mod use.
A couple things I have learned with mine.
The batteries could be running low or you need some noalox on the threads. Do not put noalox on the atomizer threads or where the threads are on the mod that the atomizer screws into.
Clean up the mod and iso alcohol the threads, then where the top and bottom of your mod screw onto the body, add noalox.
On one mod I actually dabbed a touch onto the positive battery post.

Cleaning up of all the threads, battery cap, connectors etc. with isopropyl alcohol is needed periodically. Pay close attention to the threads. You will probably find the rag or whatever you use to clean the threads with turns black with dirt and corrosion. Its surprising how much this affects the performance. Noalox is a lubricant supposed to prevent oxidation of aluminium. I'm not sure where to buy it but their site has a "where to buy" link at the top.

you can get noalox at lowes or home depot... with the wiring stuff like wire lube (for snaking wiring and cable)... it's made by ideal so ask where that stuff is... the lowes or home depot guy usually wont know what you're talking about if you just ask for noalox...

I'd clean the inside of the mods as well...but I'd suggest something other than just iso alcohol... I like a product called nevr dull...you can get it at walmart or the auto store... it's batting with a polish in it..you just tear off a wad and polish the inside and then wipe it out...
