Question about MVP v2 firing pen.

Hi,
I know someone that is having problems with their MVP so I thought I would come here in hopes to find answers. It seems like there is something wrong with the receptor that the tank makes connection with. I have messed with it some & made a little progress then it goes right back to messing up. Basically, sometimes when connecting the tank (even if the mod is shut off) it will fire up & start sizzling. I have tried to adjust the receptor pen & am not having any luck. It sparks when my tweezers touch the metal. Has anyone ever had this happen or know what could be the fix?? Any comments would be appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have never seen an MVP fire when powered off. It should also not spark if you fiddle with the firing pin or 510 connection when powered off - if it is I would wager that there is nothing that can be done with tweezers that will repair it sadly.

That's what I was worried about... Do you happen to know what can be done? Assuming it needs dissected & really looked at to see what is going on.

I would say, its time to spend 35 dollars on a new MVP2 - there is no way the trouble of dissecting it - trying to replace a chip or resolder connections would be more expensive (and a massively frustrating waste of time)

That's what I am thinking. I just wanted to see if it was user error or if it could be defective. I figured if it worked for 2 weeks then this started, it had to be user. Thanks for the tips!

If you are certain it is powered off and it is still firing - then its not user error. If you think it is off, and it is not - then you are doing something wrong. Oh I just meant maybe they had done something to it to cause it to start acting crazy. My guess was putting their tank on way too tight & damaging whatever is connected to the receptor inside of the mod. (only because it worked fine for a couple weeks then the issues started) I will check out the video. Thank you.

Sounds defective to me. You should return it to where it was purchased. Innokin has a 90 day guarantee.

It's normal for it to work for a couple weeks then totally spaz out? Well I will tell them to contact Innokin & see what they can do. Thanks

I had one that worked great for 2 days then spazzed out. The button wouldn't fire when I pressed it, would fire when I wasn't pressing it. I sent it back, it was defective. Now I'm waiting for its replacement.
