Hello....I've been spending a lot of time on this forum, which is great btw, and researching products, etc. I'm fairly new to vaping, about a month or two, but only on my 4th day off analogs after finally finding an e-juice that did the trick for me. (BWB Casablanca, if anyone is curious). Anyway, I have a Prosmoke ecig, which now that I have been refilling the catridges myself, I am happy with. Their prefilled cartridges produced great vapor, but had no taste or throat hit. The only thing is I find myself refilling the catridges pretty often. I'm wondering if this would be the case if I had a different e-cig, like a 510? I went with the prosmoke, because I wanted something similar to the look & feel of a real cigarette, and it definitely has that going for it. What I can't seem to find out, is how much longer/bigger the 510 is compared to the Prosmoke? (I believe the Prosmoke is an M403 if I read correctly). My primary questions are:

Would I be refilling so much if I had a 510?
How much bigger is the 510 over the Prosmoke?
What is the key difference between the 510 and 510-T?
Lastly, is there another model that I am not taking into consideration that I should look into?

Thanks so much for the help!

I'm pretty new, but hopefully I am not steering you wrong with this info; somebody will be along to correct me soon if I am!

The 510 is just the type of battery thread. You need to think about a bigger battery if you want to refill less -- a bigger battery supports bigger cartos, and that is your problem, not the threading of your PV. I have an Echo, which has 3 ml cartos that last me about 10 hours without the need for a refill.

Bigger battery = no cig lookalike, though.

HTH!

The problem with going bigger is you'll use even more juice, usually.

A 510 isn't much bigger, though. Now something like an Ego, Kgo or Riva would certainly be bigger. Can't find out much information on the Prosmoke site so I'll just assume it's another of the lookalikes. Those usually have poor performance and small batteries (maybe 200 mAh) Kgo's have a 1100 mAh battery and run at a higher voltage (3.7) then the 'normal' 3.4 volts of most lookalike.
KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

By the same token there are mods like the E-Power that have less expensive batteries that go in a tube verses having it all in one part. These batteries are more common, so cheaper $4-5 verses $12-18.

But instead of refilling cartridges most folks use 'cartos'. These hold much more liquid, so less fillings per day. Or even a carto tank and fill up far less frequently.

So with something like an E-Power and a carto you'll be good for most of the day without refilling or recharging the battery.

Most of your cig size batteries will all pretty much give you the same vape time before they need charging. I bought an Ego and it was just to bulky for me so I was stuck until I found an in between battery. I bought an Elite from Cigeasy. It is a 380 mah (I think) but it is in between your cig size and your fat batteries and to me is the perfect medium. The charge last anywhere from 5 hours to 12 hours depending on how much I vape. The starter kit is 50 bucks and comes with 2 batteries, charger and 5 2 ml cartomizers. It has been very dependable. Good luck in your search.

More than likely you will refill everything like crazy no matter what you buy.

How much bigger is the 510 over the Prosmoke?

Not sure but the 510 is a slim cig sized system.

What is the key difference between the 510 and 510-T?

The "T" stands for tank. I'm not a tank fan but many people like them. All of the 510 and 510-T batteries can be used with regular resistance cartomizers and atomizers. You can always buy a box of Boge 3ohm cartomizers if you purchase the 510-T so that you can try both out.

Lastly, is there another model that I am not taking into consideration that I should look into?

If you don't mind going to a big batttery, which I highly recommend doing, you might go to Hoosier E Cig Supply and check out the KGO. The battery life will last you almost all day plus it will give you a better hit.

This is really helpful! Do you know if the KGO is much longer than the 510, or perhaps shorter? Its so hard to tell in the pics, but I like what I am seeing with that one.

Think of the lookalikes as similar to the size of a short pencil.
Ego, Kgo and Riva are more like a magic marker.
As you move up in size past this they get closer to more like a small flashlight.

But as most folks find out even the lookalike s can't be held like a cigarette. The battery weight and balance just don't allow it.
I don't know about others and how they hold theirs but for me the battery is held in my fist with my thumb on the button and just the catro (tank) with a drip tip sticking upward. Tilt head down slightly and bring E-cig up to mouth and vape.

Here's a page showing the relative size of many of these batteries;

+1 for the Epower and kGo.

I have an Epower and love it. Like stephpd said, the batteries cost around $5 and are non-proprietary. Also everything is replaceable on the Epower so it's cheap to maintain. The batteries are 1050mah so they last a long time and I get on avg a day to a day and a half on one battery.
The kGo is also a nice PV, even though it uses proprietary batteries. The batteries are 1100mah so thEy last a long time and most people get at least a full day on a charge.

With either I would try the Smoktech 1.7ohm XL cartos (also called the Ressurectors). They are designed for 3.7V PVs like the Epower and kGo and they give an awesome vape. They hold alittle over 2ml of juice so you can go for quite awhile without refilling. The Boges are also good cartos, but they only hold half the amount of juice that the Ressurectors do so they need to be refilled a lot more often. And if you want to go even longer between refills, the Smoktech 3.5ml tank is perfect for the kGo/Epower and the Ressurectors work awesome in it.
I use the Ressurectors in a Smoktech 3.5ml tank on my Epower and it's perfect for maintanance free vaping. The tank is big enough that I can fill it in the morning and not need to refill all day, yet it's small enough that I can easily still carry it in my pocket everywhere I go.
I would def consider the kGo or Epower bc between the long battery life of either one and something like the Ressurectors and/or a carto tank, you could fairly easily have all day maintanance free vaping
