I am now vaping, and analog free for 48hrs. and now that I am sure I will be sticking with it, I will be upgrading from my mall brand e-cig, to something more elegant, or at least less crude. Here are my preferances that I have figured out so far, hard throat hits, and enjoying extended vape sessions, I think I might spring for a liquinator w/boge 2 ohm, but what batt will work best for this, thinking a Joye or Riva, I heard the Riva is a higher volt, not so much for the vari volt, looking to spend $100 - $150 with a couple batts and charger. Portability is key, and must fit in left shirt pocket! What are your thoughts?

I'll tell you what I did, and it was extremely cost efficient. I bought one single Volcano Inferno 3.7V Passthrough which eliminates the need for extra batteries, with a Tube Tank and TankoMizer...essentially this is an Ego-T rebranded. If you're looking for a Variable Volt, which isn't as portable, Volcano has a Lavatube for only $70 which does everything the Pro-Vari does at less than 50% the price...but obviously isn't as heavy-duty. The Inferno set-up I purchased cost me under $40 and it's been great for me so far. I'll likely get the Lavatube for intense at home vaping, and use the inferno with Tube Tank or Tankomizer on the road.

Hey thanks! What seems to be the preferance between the Rivo 510 batt and the eGo 510 batt? Any one better made, durable, not sure what a passthrough is... is it like being pluged into a wall outlet? I was strongly considering just getting the eGo-C but heard mixed reviews, no-less most likely better than what I have, and I really liked that I can customize it later on with boge 2.0 carto's if the tank thing doesn't work out... but the style was right up my alley, like a small cigar, pocketable... and with the eGo-C the atty is removable to be cleaned, or replaced. But also liked the idea of the lava lamp look of the liquinator...hahaha.

Most people use cartomizers for every day vaping instead of atomizers.

Weak point of Riva 510 (at least the 3.7v ones) is the soft translucent bit surrounding the center post of the battery can let the center post get pushed in too easily so you need to be extra careful not to screw things in any further than needed to connect electrically and work. Other fat battery models are a bit more resistant to the center post being pushed in. The good point is the 3.7v especially for someone like me - I use standard resistance 510 and 808 cartomizers on my slim models and my KR8 slim is 3.7v so I do not want less voltage than 3.7v for any of my big batteries. Liberty-Flights.com Riva 510 kits and loose Riva 510 SE batteries are definitely the 3.7v ones from the right manufacturer. For pocketing I recommend the SE kit that has the 3-click enable/disable since these Riva 510's have a fairly soft-press button.

For Ego, 3.4v is fine and the fact that it's lower than Riva doesn't matter if you are using LR stuff on it. Should be more resistant to the center post getting pressed in. if you buy a clone you may not even get an Ego, you might get a Riva (3.4 or 3.7v) or something else.

Downside of both - the 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos are not really considered safe by the manufacturer for Ego and similar encased mass produced fat battery models. Occasionally somebody kills an Ego battery by putting a 1.5ohm attachment on. So if your overriding desire if to use these 1.5 ohm cartos, consider a mod instead. Or take your chances - many have no problem with the 1.5 dual coils but some have killed batteries (things like button melts and it won't turn off...)

And re shirt pocket? eh I don't know. Even the smallest 650mah batteries will pulling a pocket.

That was all great, I think I have finally made up my mind, I am going to go with a SS Liquinator on a ProVape 1, 3.7v just a tad over what I was thinking of spending, but I like the fact it is all made in the U.S., and has the custom vibe thing I was going for, any problems you see with this set up? Though have to find another place for it other than the pocket.

Good choice! I am still considering a Provape-1 down the line after I get bored of my eGo-C... although I just bought some stardust sealed tanks, so maybe I wont... but I hear 3.7 is much better than the plain 3.4 of an eGo. Let us know how it goes!

Congrats for making the jump to PVs from cigs! Your lungs will thank you!!!

I prefer to use eGo-T batteries..just the batteries as I hate the tank system. They have the 5 click on/off feature so they are really pocket friendly. Get a couple of them, a charger, and a box of Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers and your set. Might grab a drip tip also. Makes for easier refilling and feels nice on the lips instead of them getting hot from the carto.

If I may give you an advice, a mod are better than ego-class pv, both in built quality and power, and more economical in the long run. It's because ego-class batteries are using internal battery, while mods are using standard Lithium rechargable batteries, you just have to buy a battery rather than the whole unit. With $150 you could get a good mod with 2 batteries, a charger, and some cartos. There are myriads mods in US. Some of the most popular are: Alpha, Omega, and Silver Bullet from Altsmoke, Provape-1 from provape, etc. The alpha from altsmoke does fit in your pocket just as an ego battery, IMHO.

Sent from my mind using my fingers.

for a budget of <150, i think u're better off getting a infinity pro or a lavatube. they r not that portable but in the long run, they r much more of a cost saver (they still do fit in pockets of jeans though). no point getting a pocket friendly eGo or Riva which u would further upgrade to a vv down the road almost definitely. lol =p my :2c:
