Yeah...so I've been contemplating for some time now about getting one. But it seems when I browse around looking for unbiased reviews, all I get are positive reviews with advertisements...

Where are all the negative reviews? Seems to good to be true IMO.

Anywho, ranting aside. I'm thinking about getting the 510 model or whatever but I'm concerned I'll be spending more on liquid than I do on my pipe tobacco (I switched to rolling my own cigarettes after recent tax increases (shakes angry fist at obama.)) I spend around 15$ a month/month and a half on tobacco and cigarette filters. Should I get high dose nicotine liquid? Enough that five or six puffs will do me good?

HALP MEH!

I came off of a 37 year old 2+ pack a day analog habit. I'm vaping a LOT right now (playing with cartridge mods).. and I'm going at a clip of about 3ml to 5ml per day. So that's somewhere around $3/day in liquid. Keep in mind.... I was spending over $16 a day on analogs!

Being a pessimist..... let's say that an atomizer lasts a week (people have gone over a month on one atty...). That will add another $1/day.

OK... that puts me at $4/day after the initial purchase expense. For me.... that's a substantial (75%) savings.

From what I've picked up, the RN4081 looks most like a regular cigarette, then the 510 and 401. There was a forum survey in here somewhere that showed the 501 was the most popular. The 401 was in the top 3 I believe. Personally I'm staying with the 401. Check the part of the forum header marked reviews or something like that. It is full of comments on just about all styles out there.

Whoa atomizers don't last that long. They aren't cheap either. My local shop sells individual atomizers for 18$.

If I'm gonna have to replace vital parts every month or so then forget it. I'll be paying double what I'm paying now. Bring on the cancer.

Two points here. One, your local shop is raping you.

Two, You're welcome to cancer if you want it. I'd rather spend an extra few pennies and live.

Welcome to the forum!

You really need to read the tutorial and decide for yourself what feels right for you. No one else can tell you what model you will like, they can only tell you what they like. Do your homework and make an informed decision. You will save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

Well I'm not exactly the type to buy from the internet. Too many scammers out there. So I'm pretty much limited to walk in stores, unfortunately.

I've also heard stories of e-cig scam sites that looked TOTALLY legit.

Any recommendations for legit online retailers? I'd hate to have to spend double or even triple than I'm paying now for my tobacco.

LEGIT recommendations. No low budget HTML websites preferably (knit picking I know, but it makes me feel better.)

They're made in China so you'll always get the best prices there. Takes about a week when shipped EMS. Check out www.heaven-gifts.com make out a shopping list. Prices can't be beat. Then try rockymountainvapor and Cignot, here in the US.

Atomizers generally last depending on how they're maintained. It's very rare for one not to last a full month.

P.S. Once you vape you really can't go back. You can keep your cancer, I'm a Pisces.

You sound like me last week, not sure if I should try it or not and a lot of sites out of China left me cold.
Saturday I took the plunge and ordered from cignot
I received my order today and just got done charging the batteries.
I'm not sure yet how I like it and if I will stick with it but can recommend cignot as a good place to order.
There are out of IL right here in the US.
Hope this helps.

I understand your skepticism but oddly, in the case of ecigs, it's Alice in Wonderland - the scam artists are at the mall and the legit vendors (not all) are on the internet. Best is to take a look at the list of our suppliers/vendors - scroll down from the main page here and pick one, read their forums - sometimes there are deals that pop up there. I'd order from any of them unless they also have a mall kiosk. You'll figure it out.

I recommend:

Joye 510 NO BOX
for a good price on a starter kit.

and:

http://shop.nhaler.com/category.sc;...C37007BB36554EA9DE.qscstrfrnt01?categoryId=12

for samplers of the ejuice.

What exactly do you mean by how they're maintained? Do you mean how hard and how long you inhale? How often you use it?

Funny, my zodiac is Cancer. :p

Yes, companies here. Not all of their websites look fantastic, but you'll see them on here, you can PM them, etc.

That store you're walking into? At 3 times the cost, that guy is the one scamming you.

@ cignot.com you can buy 3 attys for $25, as opposed to $18 for one. I'd say that shop owner is the scam artist.

I buy all my 510 supplies from Cignot. They're ordering is secure, they process and ship usually within 24 hours and they're prices can't be beat. They are an amazing supplier and I pray to god they never go out of business.

There are alot of trustworthy suppliers to choose from. For instance, I buy my juice supplies from Johnsons Creek, LiquidXpress, and MyFreedomSmokes. All very reputable suppliers that have not done me wrong.

As far as an attys lifespan......It really depends on usage. I've heard some saying their attys last for a week or two, others say a month...one thread I read on here says that a guys atty finally died on him after about 6 months of faithful service.
If you are a chain vaper, never taking it outta your mouth, then your atty may not last very long. But if your careful with it, take care of it and treat it like its precious gold...then you might be surprised how much use you actually get out of it. I still have the working atty on the first PV I ever bought early this summer. It was vaped on for 5 weeks before I switched to a new brand, and the atty still works. As a matter of fact, I haven't had an atty die on me yet...*knock on wood*

If you'd really rather get cancer than to pay your local shop prices or shop online and get the best prices....well, I'm sorry you feel that way.
For me, It's not about saving money. Yes, that is a wonderful perk, but it's more about saving my life. I watched my dad die at 47 years old from cancer, and I don't want that same fate for myself. I don't want to be the one dying from cancer and my own daughter has to sit there and watch me go. So, I don't care about the money.
even if the prices were higher than analogs, I would still save money. The prices of insurance premiums would be at non-smoker rates. And I would save thousands in smoking related medical bills.

Thank you for an informative and inspiring post. I'll look into cignot.

Also, I'm not a chain smoker. I smoke an entire full flavored cigarette every hour/hour and a half or sometimes one every two hours depending how bored I am.
