I have frequented this site for about a week now. Reading little things here and there. I found the new members info to be quite helpful and would like the thank the Author for writing it and the mods for stickying it. I have not been able to conclude exactly which E-cig is right for me.

SO here I am writing out to all you members who may view here occasionally to try and get a selection decided upon. The thoughts of the thing heating up and burning something are not to pleasant for me. I keep finding something that sounds good, only to see the thing lambasted a few posts down. I am looking for something that will hold up on its own without just burning out in a day. Something that is a little more trusted and reliable.

I currently smoke Camel and Marlboro daily. I average about a pack a day and have for 3 years. I am ready to quit, and I feel this is my best option honestly. I am ready to move into a new era for smoking! Please help me! :D

Hi Noq,
Congrats on wanting to stop cigs..!

I would suggest to you as your first PV to get the 808 kit. It is the easiest to use for a beginner and will help you kick the habit..
GP VapoRite KR-808

Everyone has an opinion, you are right.

I started with a 510 kit and it got me off analogs..

I wish I'd known about the cartomizers then but I have used everything since and NOW I use cartomizers 808's//

Good luck to you!

I know it is quite confusing with all the different model numbers for a new person. I'm not quite sure what you mean by burning up in a day. Most pvs will go through more than 1 batt in a day but then you just recharge them. Different models do different things if you want easy to use then I would say the kr808d is a good choice. I like the Joye 510 because it is cheaper to use, it produces a lot of vapor but it does go through batts a lot and since I drip I do have to refill it a lot which takes about 1 sec. Anyways make a wish list of what really matters. Read Don Da Vapes sticky on different model pvs and feel free to ask questions. Welcome aboard Happy vaping to you.

I am also a KR808D-1 (KR8) fan. My choice of supplier is Vapor4Life and we have a very active subforum with alot of information if you would like to browse to find out why we love it so very much. Vapor4Life - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

My decision to go with this model was I wanted something that I wouldn't have to fiddle and fuss with to get it working like it should. And I chose my supplier based on the amazing testimonials in the subforum.

No matter what you choose to start with, the decision to start vaping is a great one and best of luck to you. Let me know if you have any more questions, I'm happy to help out too!

hi noqturnal...i would echo what the last poster says...and i dont own a kr808!!!the reason i would agree is that i bought a dse901 to begin with which i loved but then got a 510 a week later to try and its waaaay better...

but....

i think in retrospect the kr808 wouldve been better(easier) for me starting out AND unlike the 901 i have, with the kr8 you can KIND OF mix and match...well...you can charge 901 batteries in a kr8 pcc(personal charger for out and about) and you can use 901 atomisers and carts if im not mistaken....but you cant use cartomizers with a 901 : o( (if you want to try other models the kr8 is a good starting point to not havta buy too much extra stuff)

i like the 510 so far as i think tis better flavor and vapor BUT i say this in reference to using the manual batteries with the switch...i got auto batts only with my 901 so i dont know if a manual would make it better but got both types with my 510 and there is no comparison...the manual batteries give me way more vapor and flavor!

i wish id known these little few things before i started....

other things i learned as i went along(and im only 3 weeks in!) are:

1. before getting my 901 i ordered extra parts for it(usb, car charger, extra atomizers and batteries) and i wont use them cos i dont like it....so id suggest try a model before buying tooo many extras...

2. i bought mostly tobacco juice which having switched i now dislike...i have lots in an order i made 3 wks ago to arrive that i will never use or have to add flavor to at best and wasted money this way....

3. i only have one charger while waiting for my pcc so id suggest getting SOME kind of a 2nd charger in your first order if you know you will be out and about all day or are not super organised(charging batteries each eve is a pain)

4. dont discount manual batteries in the beginning cos they arent like a real cig/could switch on in your pocket.you may not like them but you MIGHT LOVE THEM!!!(like me,who didnt want them and hadta get them in a kit)...ps. i was out all day with an ecig loose in pocket and it didnt go off once...i did break the atomiser when i sat on it tho!!!

i hope this helps a little and i am open to correction on the interchangeable parts(you can get adaptors for most ecigs too but i havent tried these...i just know the kr8 is especially easy to mingle with the 901)

good luck and report back when you decide!!!

So far the 808 looks like a great deal. I am now reading on the sub forum that Taryn supplied. It might be my decision. Watching a refill video right now. All e-cigs provide about the same amount of function as far as I am concerned. I am really trying to dodge the "OMGZ my e-cig is doing something crazy" problems. I dont mind recharging it as long as it has some convenience to it. I like the idea of a pack that has a built in charger. I almost ordered a Blu, but I have heard some serious horror stories from ordering to performance.

I would really like to thank everyone for posting to me. It is quite nice having so many people willing to help. Everyone here has been extremely friendly!

No Problem at all noq,

the suppliers i use/have used are:

heaven gifts(china)
vaporstation(us and uk)
liberty flights(uk and usa i think)

if you want any info on those suppliers...they r all good btw but i dont like liberty or Heavengifts brand of juice as i dont think it has the nicest flavor/vapor but some love it(dekang juice)

They are automatic batteries, but I gotta recommend the "disposable" 510 from madvapes.com. You can't go too far wrong for $9.99+shipping when it comes with 3 Marlboro (now called "Western Blend") cartridges. Depending on the price of analogs in your area and how much use you get out of it, it's the same price and you can start trying various e-juices to see what you like best. When it comes to vaping, individual tastes vary by a VERY wide margin. On analogs eventually your sense of taste disappears and you don't much care what "flavor" it is as much as you care about feeding the addiction. When you stop smoking, however, your sense of taste and smell will return and you may find that people who liked the same analog brands you like absolutely HATE your favorite e-juice.

However, you should keep in mind that just one battery and one atomizer and 3 cartridges (what is included in the madvapes disposable) is probably not enough to keep you off analogs for more than a day or two--its not intended to be, but it is an economical way to at least get the general idea of using the 510 and you can go from there.

I haven't tried the KR8's mentioned above, but I'm awaiting an adapter to try them with my Xhaler because it does seem like a good idea for convenience sake. Like others have mentioned, make sure to read DonDaBoomVape's guides to get a good understanding of the "Wonderful World of Vaping" and don't be afraid to ask questions. If your question is stupid, it's even dumber to not get the answer. ;)

Some of my favorite vendors so far:
Madvapes.com - Mentioned above. Excellent customer service and speedy processing.
Heaven Gifts - Good customer service and low prices, but shipping is from China so it can be unreliable. Due to customs issues, you're better off ordering e-juice domestically and save your first purchase from Heaven Gifts for after you know what you want and can wait for it if necessary.
Rocky Mountain Vapor - Great prices for some items and quick free delivery for orders over $14
CigNot.com - Great prices, one of the few places that offers ECOpure Vegetable Glycerin based juice, super fast shipping, and friendly service.
Nhaler.com - Unbelievably fast processing. Kind and generous service. Some of the absolute best e-liquids including "Lung Juice" and "High Voltage" and the Xhaler is IMHO easily the "Best bang for the buck"--if you don't care if your PV looks like a cigarette, the Xhaler is the fast and affordable way to try all of the most popular atomizers (801, 901, 510, KR8 & GreenCig) with long lasting batteries at your choice of voltage (3.6V, 5V, 6v, 7.4V) Best Overall Supplier 2009

Might as well be asking......What's the best car to buy?

OK If you want to wait 4 to 6 weeks (although I haven't tried it)
I say JUICEBOX!! (under 70. I think)

3.5 weeks smoke free/ owner of 510 1st thhhhhhen bought 6 dollar adapter and smoke 808's. BOTH have advantages. Kinda like ...do you like the smooth ride of a boat car OR is performance more important??

fyi-510's I believe, have adapters for Most other attys. NOT sure if that could be said the other way around -but probably.

Listen to your gut. No one gets to quit cigs without some kind of insanity LOL

I have tried:

electronics cigarettes inc duo pro - Vapor is poor, battery life is so-so to poor, phone support is great.

Smoking Everywhere - Avoid this company like the plague. They have an "F" Rating with the Better Business Bureau. bbb dot org - search smoking everywhere in Florida. I was promised a money back trial and they refused to live up to it. Ironically, the flavor is good and the vapor is good when it works which isn't very much. Customer service refuses to speak with you on the phone.....only through email.
Read all the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website before purchasing from any of these companies. I hope I've just saved someone a lot of heartache.

So I have read and read, and read. What have I decided? That there are simply way too many options out there for one to choose! No, there is no best that I am sure of! I have however realized that I would like to get a PCC for the simple fact that it just seems convenient to have a charger that doesn't always have to be jacked into something.

As for design, I see many that very pleasurable designs on them that look better then the run of the mill analog lookalike. I really do understand how you would want it too look completely unlike a cigarette as far as coloring goes to help divert unwanted anti smoking attention. Plus, you want something that can draw attention as well to help promote what very well may be an alternative smoking lifestyle! I am now looking for something with a moderate design to it and a PCC. The 808 that I was shown earlier had some pretty gaudy looking designs and color combinations. This was also noted in the earlier referred forum post.

I would like to once again thank everyone for posting so valuable information, reviews, and opinions. This decision will most likely be made before the end of the day!

IMO man batteries are way better than auto, kr8 cart will not work on a 901 batt but a 901 atty will work on kr8 battery, dont ask me why anyone would want to do that kr8 gives a better hit than a 901 IMO unless the 901 is on a PT.

Charging batts, one word get a pcc it is well worth the money and will make life easier with whatever model you go with.

Tob juice, I have made a lot of juices that you may like with tob in them, add a few drops of menthol in tob and its a whole different animal, a 50% mix of cherry and tob is a very good vape as well. if all fails and you dont want your tob let me know the manufacturer and I will trade for it or maybe buy it PM me if intrested.
