I've been vaping and using EVOD and Protank-II clone for months. They are really easy to use and clean and have a very consistent performance. When I cleaned them, I just threw them into hot water, leave them there a few hours and then let them dry. I did this 2-3 times before changing heads.
Now my regular setup is Joyetech eGo-CC. I love how it never leaks and is extremely easy to use and refill. However I have serious problems getting consistent performance from the Type A atomizer heads. When it's new with that bad taste (btw: weird thing - my friend's new eRoll didn't have it) I do a few burns without vaping. The taste is then good until I empty the tank. However with the first refill the taste is already worse. With the third it's nowhere near the taste of the first fill (gets an after taste).
I tried cleaning it the same as EVOD heads (just hot water) but the performance is a lot worse after that.
So I thought I'll open it up and dry burn the wick to see if there's any residue. It had none but now there are other problems - the cleaned atomizer now doesn't produce vapor at all. It's like the wire lost contact with the wick or something.
What am I doing wrong and how can I get more consistent performance from these heads? If they wouldn't be so expensive, I'd probably be buying new ones every time.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
