This petition contains a lot of information that I hadn't seen before. Interestingly, two of the petitioners (Public Citizen and Consumer Reports) have made many false fear mongering claims about e-cigs.

Wow! I'm quite surprised, especially in the wake of the proposal submitted to FDA to remove the black box warning.

Why do the studies used by the FDA to change the black box label in part 4 sound suspiciously like many we are seeing from the ANTZ ?

If their was any doubt that BP is behind a lot of the crap being spread about PVs go and read the pdf to see exactly how they operate, the first section has the true effects of Chantix and section 4 shows how their meta data has been twisted.

$300 million to 2500 people paid out before the black box warning in 2009 which they have been able to hide behind since and now they want the FDA to tone it down?

Anybody believe they actually care about our lives?

I think I'll quit now before I write something that will earn me a moved on.

Just remember Chantix almost 600 suicides plus a few homicides.
PVs no known deaths.
And which one the FDA is contemplating relaxing the black box wording on and which one their trying to bury.

I think 600 is low. The total was over 1,000 but some of the reports were sent to the "wrong email address". It seems like they'll never be officially added. The FDA defended Chantix the first time it was threatened for cardiac problems. I followed the Chantix story before I had ever heard of vaping. The drug should have never been approved in the first place. Whatever happened to do no harm? A dead smoker is a non-smoker? I agree. That's what they think of us. Carpet glue is another example.

Smoker death by Chantix ends up as smoking-related death, thus it only bolsters the ANTZ position.

How is Chantix still legal? I made it all the way to my second pill before I had the incredible need(can't stress enough this was a need, not a desire)to go and kill people. I literally felt like I would die if I didn't. When I called my doc and told her the problem, she asked who it was I wanted to kill, I explained that I wanted to kill no one, but, I needed to kill someone. Then she asked again who I wanted to kill. I calmly told her it didn't matter who, if she liked, I could come over and start with her. Thankfully, I fought off this need for the next three days and finally it started to subside. Took about two weeks to finally feel like myself again. Smoking {OTHER STUFF} has to better for you than that junk!

I've always advocated for going on the attack and exposing the liars for what they are.
The problem I've always had is figuring out how to do that.

From my understanding, the tobacco area of the FDA has seperate funding. So if you attack pharmaceticals, it's not going to deplete the tobacco arm of the FDA.

However, the court of public opinion will be swayed and it really irks me that the notion of "effective" smoking cessation aids exists without question. That's where I'd aim - THEY ARE NOT EFFECTIVE.

Seriously folks - 80% of smokers WANT to quit, yet they claim when NRT's fail it's due to smokers being "unwilling" to quit???? I think we've proved that wrong.
