Consumer Reports - need suggestions please

I have a contact at Consumer Reports in the Auto division.

I want to approach him about e-cigs and see if he could suggest ideas to the powers that be for an e-cig story. I am not sure how to do it, so please post your comments and suggestions for me to go over to formulate a strategy.

The thing with consumer reports is that they buy a product, test it out, and report back (at least that's my understanding). They may be leery of purchasing and reviewing a product whose status is contested by a government agency. On top of that, the term "electronic cigarette" is a wide net that covers many different devices. Which one would they choose? Have they ever tested multiple similar products and given a review on the overlying product group?

Pff, even with all of those questions, I say the direct approach is best.
