October is coming around, and I'm asking all of you to contact your senator and congressman/woman in Congress.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is going to release a ruling in October regarding an on-line ban of e-cigarettes. Ask them to not support any bill which would infringe on your right to use e-cigarettes. Instead, would ask them to support any bill which would enhance your right to use e-cigarettes.
The FDA will be issuing a ruling in October 2013 on banning on-line sales of e-cigarettes. I view a ban on the on-line sales a step backwards and further discourages the use of e-cigarettes. There is no local retailer, in a small town in AZ where I live, which manufactures e-liquid I use in my e-cigarettes. I must travel to Tucson, AZ buy E-juice from small retailers in Tucson or purchase the juice on-line from small retailers across the US. These retailers are small independent business men/women who manufacture e-liquid on their business premises. These individuals are providing a needed service in the American marketplace.
In my personal opinion, Big Tobacco corporations would encourage an on-line ban in order to have the American people buy nicotine liquids from Big Tobacco. This would only increase Big Tobaccos profits. Big Pharmaceutical corporations would also encourage an on-line ban in order to squash the e-cigarette industry. This would require Americans, such as yourself, to purchase nicotine replacement therapy drugs, if desired, to alleviate the harmful effects of tobacco. And lastly, the Prohibitionist would mark this as a step in the right direction in eliminating the e-cigarette under the smokescreen of saving the children.
In closing, ask your Congressional representative, if they would morally and ethically, deprive you of the right of a healthier and safer alternative to tobacco? Encourage them to support any bill which would enhance your right to use e-cigarettes and prevent the FDA from banning on-line sales of e-cigarettes.
"First, they came for the socialist and nobody cared. Then they came for the communists and nobody cared. Then they came for the Jews and nobody cared." Don't let the government infringe on our rights. Speak up.
