Couldn't have said it better myself … Yep, smoking is horrid in so many ways … People might be able to get away with it for quite a few years but it will eventually kill you.... My Mother died from lung cancer due to long-term smoking and so I know first hand what the crap can do to a person.

My wife survived lung cancer, but it cost her 1/3 of her right lung.

I know of a few places to sell your gear on, however I am torn on linking those just given your reason. If you know friends, then it is to your discretion what you sell your gear at. I would say used gear (if fairly new) 80% of your originally purchase price would be fine. Just go down from there, if it is beat up then make the adjustments as you see fit.

It would be a real shame to see you go back to smoking cigarettes. I've slipped up a couple times, bought a carton...a month later went back to vaping. Nothing says that you have to smoke forever now, however if vaping really isn't working for you at all...like 100% it never worked for you then I agree to find a different means of quitting cigarettes. I've bought packs before and thrown them out after a cigarette or two. Yea it's money wasted, but I don't put a price on my health and general well-being.

You're a grown adult and I'm sure you see the obvious health hazards to smoking traditional cigarettes. While smoking may not lead to an inevitable early death for everyone, it definitely does for a lot of people. You said you almost died last year and now you are going back to smoking? This seems to be a 2+2=fish kind of mentality. Idk...just seems like you're beating yourself up over slipping up instead of taking a step back and realizing that you are only human. Humans make mistakes. You only have one life at the end of the day, if you are happier smoking cigarettes then by all means, do you, however if you are on the fence..try to think about it a bit more before you give up.

But to each their own, I sincerely hope you sleep on this idea some more before making the leap to sell all of your vape gear. As someone else mentioned in this thread, sell everything and at least do yourself a favor and keep one or two setups and your DIY stuff JUST IN CASE you decide to give it another wack. It would save yourself some money and the trouble of waiting on shipping to try again.

Thank you all. I had received negative things here plus just had an awful issue going on. The next morning, I broke down and just let it out. Then vape mail came in. I checked myself and checked myself hard. I'm pretty hard on myself at times. Just me, we get like that at times I guess.

Started back to vaping even though I had a few more. I've came too far to throw my hands up like this. I read and reread the comments here. Then read again this evening. Each of you are so sincere. I totally just got humbled reading this. Maybe it's a nic drop or the urge that just does this. I cranked up my nic and vaping more to resist this.

My health and future health is a huge concern. I cannot give in. Seemed all too easy the other day. I guess it's easier to go back then to deal since that was a vice for so many years. I didn't even light up when I lost my gmom in October, why this week? Stress in the holidays, I'm sure. Again the old vice seemed to easy.

I love my vape gear and I'm proud of it. That truly hurt. The hours online looking and searching, researching then purchasing then to just sell out. No, that's not me. However, I had some really good inquiries here locally. Even a few that said like a few posts here, box it up and try again, if not I'll buy it. Those were friends knowing I was literally messing up.

My health issue was just a freak illness not related to smoking but puts me first in line with colon cancer. Smoking is a known issue with CC patients. I wouldn't survive long at all if I got that. I'm living with less than half now from what I was born with. I don't need that death wish. My surgeon even was elated earlier this month on finding out I put those nasty things down. Even got a hug from him and all of his staff.

You all were so right. Thank you, guess I'm just human. Had a very dumb few days. ..Cigarettes were stashed at my neighbors home and we made a pact. The store owner said they really hated to see me break down but knew I could've driven to another store just as well.

I messed up. ...Simple as that and I'll probably delete this post soon. ...[emoji55]

Be easy on yourself, most of us have been there. Life is full of challenges large and small, all you can do is choose how to face them.

Mrs States and I began vaping in June this year. A smoking reduction tactic, not cessation.
Basically when I took it up she wanted in so I was buying for two. Her being a DTLr, me being an MTLr. Two entirely different paths were chosen so two different devices were required with each episode of shinyitis.

She preferred things all shiney and purdy. Me, I needed rugged and manly looking. Battle scars, matte black, and stealthy. Hers are rainbow and flowers. It did not take long to spend 4 figures. Not long at all.

Well, she has all but abanoned vaping and I've switched to flashdrive sized numbers. What to do, what to do? See, gadgets and gizmos become outdated about 43 minutes after you buy them. So the value is about as much as a paperweight. Like Avon collectibles or railroad insulators it's only as valuable as someone is willing to pay.

My YiHi SL Class or JAC Sandstorm type stuff may hold some value, but the Kroma kit...well certainly won't. My thinking is stuff them in a box, keep them for later and perhaps someday somebody I know will take up vaping. If not it'll be more stuff for the grandkids to figure out how to deal with it.

If they are real friends, then give it to them. Or perhaps find ways to pay it forward at a VA hospital or something. Realizing that some would consider donating vape gear as bad as donating a carton of Marlboros it may take a bit of inginuity, but the great feeling would be worth the efforts.

IDK... I would kind of tend to say hold off on at least some of your gear selling until you are in a better place emotionally at least the things that are hard to get/worth a lot. . Because it's unlikely you'll get the price tag you may be hoping for, for all of them.

Wishing you luck in transitioning back to vaping.

I'm so glad to hear your back on track!

no sense beating yourself up, just get back on the horse and get on with it.. your not the first to have a relapse and you won't be the last... what matters is getting back to quitting again. :)

Sounds like a good plan, Ranjen. As I and many others have said, a slip is a slip. Heck, I've lost count of the times I tried to quit before vaping!

Upping the nic may have been the right thing to do. I started with 18, didn't quite make it. Upped to 24 and for me that's what it took. Several months later, dropped back to 18 and held it there, and it still did the trick. Imo, trying to reduce the nic level too quickly is an invitation to falling off the bus.

For me, I have no desire to stop nic, ever. So here I am 6 years later, still at 18, and still not inhaling the 5000+ other toxins in combust tobacco. But if your goal is to be totally off nic, as well as the hand-to-mouth, go slowly - and maybe don't even think about nic reduction until you're more certain you won't go back to cigs.

And if you do steal a smoke, ok. Ooops happen.

I messed up. ...Simple as that

No need to be so harsh on yourself.. Cigs are evil, pure evil and they have controlled most of us to the point of ridiculousness and rash choices and decisions...

I remember stressing out to no end! OMG I only have 5 left in the pack! I need to drive to the store but it's freezing cold, the roads are ice and it's a blizzard out... Grab keys and drive to store to buy a pack! Ridiculous!

Stick with it! If you slip up, so be it! Get back up, brush yourself off and grab the vape gear.. At some point, out of nowhere, you won't have the urge to smoke anymore as long as you vape..

I've been vaping for almost 10-years now and every so often I decide to see if I can quit it as well. I last a few months then the urge to smoke comes back. Yes even after 10-years I get the urge if I don't vape..

Cigs are evil! Pure evil but there is an option.. Keep vaping even if you slip up.. Slipping up is not a bad thing as long as you grab the vape. Not grabbing the vape and going back full time to the nasties? Well that would be a bad thing!

Keep at it, you are fine, most of us have been in your shoes.

Nah, you didn't mess up. You just acted human. So you slipped for a while. Now you get back up and give it another go. I wish I could tell you there's some magic moment when any sense of wanting a cigarette will ever stop, but over time it becomes more manageable. Even after being 2 years cigarette free I found that in a very stressful situation I really wanted a smoke. I ground my teeth, took some deep breaths, and started chain vaping until it passed. The great thing is it did pass.

Just take it a day at a time. It sounds like a clique but it happens to be true. And if you do have a cigarette here and there because of circumstances or your vape just flat out not working doesn't mean you failed. It means you didn't smoke a helluva lot of cigarettes you otherwise would have.
