I live for music.....playing, listening, concerts, etc... I've been playing since I was 10 years old. I was taught the bass guitar, but because I live in Pittsburgh (horrible music scene) I had to adapt any way that I can to be able to play in a band. Whether it be drums, guitar, keys, etc... I'll get it and I'll learn it, so I've always been switching up instruments, learning new things about them, learning new song, writing new song. I'm not trying to give you my life story here, but I think this shows some dedication. It's one thing to play in a band, keep in time, and keep in-sync with everyone, but to be constantly switching instruments and teaching myself how to play them, and moderately well.
Most of the time, I'll sit at home and write full songs if I can't find anyone to play/collaborate with. I really could care less if anyone wants to or not, I do, and I'll do whatever it takes to get my ideas out.
Everything about me is based around music (you should see the walls of my house, looks like a 90's teenagers room) If I forget to recharge my ipod, I'll have to wait 20 mins to give it some juice because I can't take not being able to listen to music in my car, I could listen to the radio, but I don't like most of the things stations play. My t-shirts are mostly band t-shirts and if they get ratty, I'll retire them and hang them on the wall, haha. I study magazines, web sites, reviews on products so that I stay on top of the games, and can spot a good deal if I see one. When I'm at work, I browse the Musical Instruments classifieds on Craigslist hoping for an awesome deal or a rare find. When I go on vacation, I plan it around a certain band that will be playing close by, so on top of going on vacation, I get to rock out!
My moms a singer, my step father used to be in a touring hair metal band in the 80's haha, my dad plays guitar, my grandfather was a steel guitar player in a country band, my 3 uncles play guitar, my aunt plays piano, and pretty much everyone in my family is a music lover or musically inclined. It's in my blood, haha, there's no denying that.
