I'm must say I'm a little surprised that people like the idea of someone handwriting sections of the label in. I could see this as being quite a nightmare at times. What happens when the ink gets smudged by accident or something is not written correctly? Not to mention what happens when you get a bottle that has been filled in with someone who has bad handwriting? IMO this could cause quite a logistical nightmare at times. After all were talking about large quantities of product not a few bottles here and there.

I would also have to argue that it makes the label look unfinished and not clean. The idea of this being a cost saving feature would be nullified by the fact that you need to pay someone to fill in those sections, and then deal with any mistakes and reprints that may happen along the way.

I just want to reiterate I'm not knocking the actual designs, just the idea of having sections that are filled in by hand. I really do feel it makes the product look unprofessional.

I see your point but even preprinted labels could be handled wrong and slapped on the wrong bottle. I would say it would really come down to what Technology will ultimately be used in the end? What type of label maker, what kind of software, etc. Does Bloog mix any juices or are all of their juices standard ml, mg, etc.

So far I really like the label choices and I am very glad I don't have to judge any of these.

Of course, there could be a separate name printed for each flavor, I just reduced that one down to the cheapest printing cost. Through my business experience though, I've learned that you spend $2 in labor for every $1 saved on product.

The final product would come down to a 2nd printing anyway. It would be extremely inefficient to have 30 different labels for 30 different juice flavors, then multiply it times the number of sizes offered. If there were 3 sizes and 30 flavors, there would have to be 90 different files just for printing. The variables will have to be done on a 2nd printing, form-fill, or handwritten to keep the headaches and tracking issues down.

IDK if I'll be able to get the rest of that drawing finished tonight. We'll see.

Except there aren't 30 different flavors... just 12 for now. However.... your design could still work if a set of blank labels were on a sheet (like 20 per page) and there was a template in Word or something where they could enter the variables. They could print off just what's needed at the time. That way you have something more polished & professional than handwritten. I've never gotten a bottle with handwriting on it, even from the mom & pop shops.

i am pretty sure thats how its done.....printed per batch.... thats why most lables have simplistic font... however the background it's printed on i am sure is more of a price issue.

I have to agree with this. Even BWB, which seems to be a one-man shop, prints out labels for each individual flavor, bottle size and nic level, with a born-on date.

It could work like Halo does theirs: a nice product label, with a small data label on the back of the bottle.

OK folks. I know technically I'm the competition here, but help me out I've got a serious question with my label entry.
attachment.php

I'm really worried about the phrase "Keep away from kids"
I don't want to lose my shot at the free juice because it sounds like I'm anti-kid. Should I change it to say "Keep this bottle away from kids and other animals too"?
Cause I'm just worried that some single mom is gonna buy some bloog juice, see my warning (cuz obviously I'm gonna win), and then she's just gonna run out of her trailer and her kids are gonna be like "where's mom"? And she's gonna be outside yellin' "I gotta keep away from ya'll". And then her dogs gonna run up to her, and she's gonna try to keep away from him too. But he's a dog, so he'll chase her. Maybe into the street. Imagine that, the poor kids' mom and dog run over by a truck and killed at the same time? I'm not sure I could live with myself.

So really, maybe I should change it? It'll take a while cuz I'll have to scale the "font" down to fit if I add words, but maybe it's worth it?

Oh, and I can do a high rez version if you need it.

Oh my, why do I have to suck so bad?

Ultimately this is going to wage heavily on how many liquids there will be when they first start selling. I really can't see file management as a big issue here. My logo is in one file and has a layer for each flavor name. Changing the label is as simple as turning one layer off and another on making it basically ready to print. Obviously you will cram as many of that logo on the 1 sheet of whatever medium your printing on.

As was stated the true price will come out on the second printing because not each flavor/bottle size/nic level will sell at the same rate. So you will almost certainly need to reorder certain labels before others.

Of the liquids that I have ordered not a single one had anything but a fully printed label with logo. If other company's are managing to do it (especially the smaller ones here in the states) I see no reason why Bloog would do anything but. Heck I could probably easily print several hundred labels on my epson 2200, and I bet that's exactly what the US based liquid manufacturers are doing.

OH BTW

ANALOG's label wins hands down.

In all seriousness you guys are coming up with GREAT ideas! Not just the graphic design, but branding too. Max Infusion? Awesome. Liquid Fusion? Ya'll are good. And to just take one feature by itself, the liquid bloog logo looks really cool and balanced, made me take a second to see if liquid was a mirror reflection of bloog somehow (then I felt dumber that I had to take that second, but it speaks to the design).
Keep 'em coming!

Just wanted to point out ... Everyone is assuming the Bottle will be round. I know its the most common shape, however .... I have received some that are more Flat .... Hence the label would be both front and back, Squares or rectangles. Prolly be helpful to get some confirmation on the bottle shape.

Oh and I would submit an entry ... Only I'm about as talented as a five year old when it comes to design :p

Don't worry about talent . . . I think concept is key. There are plenty of people who can clean up a good concept.

My last. I put a contest idea on it too. Every week, a random number is generated. If your bottle matches the number send in a picture of you with the label for a prize.

Just a quickie this morning . . . (speaking of concept, LOL)
