Good call Frick on the German influence. You may or may not remember a song called DaDaDa by the German band Trio from the 80's. It was used in several commercials. A Volkswagen one from 87 I think, pepsi. and some movies including Bio-Dome. There's definitely some influence from that song in there, as well as some other late 80's stuff.
