edit - guess I should have used photobucket rather than linking directly from the banner making site - oopsie. Sorry if I made your job more difficult Magnus.

No, that's not what happened.. it's that some of the banner makers TOS had restrictions on how you could use derivative work created from their site, etc.

It was just a note for people who may use those and expect it to be "theirs".. some of the terms are not really about preserving your work rights.

OK folks, I promise to respond to your PMs and questions but not today... I'm sorry that everyone can't win. I truly am.. I will provide my feedback on your entries for those that asked via PM.

Please do not contact me out-of-band via Facebook regarding contest results. I swear it's not personal. There weren't ~bad~ entries. I really REALLY appreciate the participation and wish I could reward everyone. :-/

Good luck coping while ECF is offline!! :D -Magnus

I waited the full duration of the "objection phase," so now congratulations are in order...

While the "surprise twist" prize was supposed to be for whoever made Magnus laugh the most and I don't think that's why CalamityJan won (how much Magnus laughed at the post is irrelevant: it was pchela on fire, it could not have possibly not won [heck, I'm still looking for a digital frame for it myself as soon as I can figure out how to remove uncle from it {no offense meant to uncle}]), Congratulations Calamity for a well-deserved "Third Grand Prize!"

As for OttoBahn and TinyTimberGal taking home the two original Grand Prizes, I honestly don't know that they are more deserving of the prizes than anyone else but I do believe that they are at least as deserving as anyone else. And I know that I am immensely happy that I didn't have to make the decision. Congratulations OttoBahn and TinyTimberGal on two well-deserved Grand Prizes.

Also, congratulations to everyone who took the time and expended the effort to enter and to those who extended help and advice to the entrants.

And finally, Thank You Magnus for a contest that was both fun and educational in many more ways than one. I really wish it hadn't caused you so much personal anguish, but you did set yourself up for it by offering a contest more compelling than a mere "lottery." For everything you do for the board and the people here, you are become Legend.

(Next time maybe set up a panel of judges so you can just sit back and enjoy from the sidelines ;))

I want to thank Magnus for the contest, the most generous prizes, and all the hard work that went into this contest. I was honestly just as surprised as everyone else that I was chosen as one of the winners. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would win any prize, much less one of the grand prizes. As has been stated before, it had to be a near impossible task to pick a winner. I'm just honored to have been chosen out of a field of such excellent entries.

Thank you all!

I've still got two or three personal responses to get to but I'm getting there. I'm going home later today after a few turbulent weeks so that should help temper the schedule/tasks.

All the DoD people responded, almost all the Copper Creek.... have to flip a coin for the two main Grandies. Etc.

Will finish those responses and close the rest out from home. Talk to you winners soon!! -Magnus
