I just noticed that Aspire makes a glass version of the ET. I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be possible to switch the base of the SI version of the ET over to the glass version which has an ego base.

i'm gonna find out as soon as my order arrives, i will let you know...got fingers crossed!

I don't think a lot of SI items have been inter-changeable with similar products in the past. I don't know if I would hold my breath.

Oddly, my Aspire Maxi threads onto a 510 but the battery post doesn't make a connection.

even if i cannot switch out the base/glass & make it work with my Spinner it just gives me an excuse to buy an EGO threaded batt...either way it's all good.

I am sold on the glassomizers personally. I just bought something from "the other guys" but lets say that it rhymes with "slow Frank" but I had to buy all new batteries because I couldn't find an effective adapter in stock or one that didn't look stooopud.

At this point, the Aspire Maxi beats out my T3s but can't hold a candle to Slow Frank.

good news..... the base on both are exactly the same, switched out perfectly :toast:

fits my Trition VV & Spinner, everything fits..we got Glass :vapor:

both my Battery's Fire, it's a Go!
got some Blueberry goin-on.

pic of the Triton VV, the T seems a bit top heavy yet comfortable, the Spinner is a perfect match for the Glassomizer.

and the Volt Spinner w/Glassomizer

I found I could convert the Volt which is 808/ego thread to 510/ego batteries the same way buy getting a plastic tank version and swap bottoms. The same with the T3 and Aspire CE5, T3 stuff made for Volt. They won't work otherwise on a 510/ego device as they don't make contact with the center post.

So I understand, you can use the 510 ET in glass with the base and coil of the Volt ET?

The reason I ask is that I appear to have a large stock of Volt Maxi coils and both the Maxi and ET from Volt that I don't use that often, if at all anymore but if I had the option of a glass tank as opposed to plastic, I may be able to use them up.

Volt are actually vGo threaded which is an 808/eGo. But most eGo devices won't work on vGo threading. They will thread but will not connect with the battery post. Luckily we know now that the tank threading works with the vGo and eGo bases.

They will work if you get a the tank in 510 treading. I recently switched to 510/ego from the Volt line when I went with 2 new APV. I wanted to keep my clearomizers as most where the glass with stainless as sold by Volt. I simple picked up one with the plastic tank and swapped bottoms. Oh and the aspire line not all of their BDC works especially on the Aspire Vivi Nova tanks due to the ego base and a custom sized BDC. I gave an X2 battery, 2 Spinners all 1300mAh and 2 each of the Aspire CE5 and T3 with 5 packs of the 3 sizes of Aspire BDC so he could step up from the cartomizers and smaller batteries.

Sorry to ask but I wanted to find out......

If I buy an Aspire ET in glass with a 510 threading, I can use the base and coil head of the Smokeless Image ET with the glass 510 Aspire tank/drip tip top?

Yes, the glass section is the same as the plastic. Put what ever top and bottom combo you want on it at least that is the way it worked for me.

Yes they are the same with the exception of the bottom piece. The ones I converted the tops where the same on both models. The only thing different in some cases was the BDC with the Smokeless Image models such as the 3.5 and smaller mini tank. So if you use it on the Volt use the smokeless image base other wise use the 510 bases with the BDC that goes with it.

Hi folks, super new to vaping, as well as SI. But love everything I've ordered so far and the service!

But even being noob, seems I have news to report. Same experiment tried above successfully with Aspire ET works for Aspire Mini Vivi Novas as well.

Just got my order today (best Valentine's ever!) of Volt Aspire Mini Vivi Nova BDC with plastic tank.
I took the bottom vGo style connector along with Volt version of replaceable head (has a shorter battery post) and successfully screwed it onto the tank from a 510 stainless covered glass Aspire Mini Vivi Nova BDC.

Result works like a charm on the X2 that also came today!
Would be super great if I had anything cinnamon to vape, but who knows? Maybe in the future?

Anyway, hi folks! Big love and thanks to everyone at SI for getting me off actual burnt tobacco, and uh for anyone who likes mini vivi BDC's have fun mixing and matching w/ 510 glass tank versions!

It is nice to know that the aspire line is universal over the whole line and that we can just swap bottoms. I kinda figured when I initially thought of it that they would not make specific tanks jut for SI. That the bases would be the only difference. This will actually work great if I decide to get a SID or a Vamo. Grab a few glass ET's and I can just swap the eGo bottom for use on the mod or put the vGo back on for use with my Volts. Lots of versatility there. If they do a nautilus I'll be set.
