I'm positive this has been asked but my search abilities must be lacking this morning.

Is there a setup to get a cool vape with a light throat hit? Something similar to a hookah .... and I think I read somewhere that the nic level has to do with the TH but I don't want to drop my level too low as to not get that buzz..

Thanks

There are a few different things that can make for a smoother vape. Higher resistance coils, and the radius of the coils is one of the things I pay attention to. I would say 2 to 2.5 ohms at 3.5 to 4.5 volts.

If you build your own I would experiment with 1/8, 7/64th drill bit sizes. 7/64th is my personal favorite. Ribbon wire also provides a smoother vape for a lot of people, but it depends on how snug/loose your wick is inside the coils. Too loose and you get kind of an acrid burnt vapor/metalic hit that is harsh. Too tight and you get wicking issues, and burnt cotton/silica.

Dial the power down...

And possibly look into dual-coils. When run at medium to low power the larger
surface area of the dual-coils as opposed to single-coils will give you a cooler
vape.

A long drip-tip... Also cools down your vape. Preferably plastic, stone or something like that...
since they are worse heat-conductors than metal.

Hi Kyle, and welcome to the forum!

While I'm no expert in the geekier aspects of vaping, I too appreciate a cool vape, a minimal throat hit, and anything that makes my vaping life easier! So I second the recommendation to try the Kanger ProTank or other bottom-coil tank. Can't speak to the ohms or voltage stuff (I use Kanger 1.8 or 2.n coils and eGo twist batteries from 3.6 to 4.2v, all off-the-shelf items).

As I understand it, PG is what makes for throat hit (VG makes for clouds of vapor), so the lower the PG ratio in your e-liquid, the lighter the throat hit. I've tried every nic level from 24 down to 6, and personally haven't noticed much difference in TH. YMMV.

Hope this helps, and good luck in your quest! By all means report back when you find what works for you. :vapor:

I like a cooler vape. I tend to use a lot of 100% VG juices. They make for a smoother vape.

I build my own attys, so I can't give you much advice in terms of gear. I would say you should probably go with standard resistance attys and turn down the power.

I'm looking to get into RBA's, I have an eternity but I'm looking to try a mech in the future..

using a bottom coil tank (like the protank 2) gives cooler vapes, using more vg will offer a softer throat hit and smoother/thicker vape
you can add a drop or two, i wouldn't go more than 3, of vg to current juices to help smooth the throat hit, any more than that you loose the flavor. If you purchase premade juices order them in higher vg levels or if making your own something maybe 20/80 (20% pg and 80% vg).

I'd think enlarging air holes could lead to leakage. What air hole? What do you use for your juice delivery device?
