Coolfire2 battery question

So my friend ordered a coolfire2, he currently has 3 trustfire 18350 800mah button top imr batteries with trustfirw charger. Im wondering are these sufficient, or safe for use in that mod? Innokens website does not.give battery specs (if better or safer reasonabley priced batts are available could you give some links?) I dont want to give incorrect information (my.understanding is they are safe)

The forum consensus is that any battery that ends with the word "fire" is not a safe battery to use. Most prefered here are the AW brand IMR type batteries.

The safest battery would be a safe-chemistry battery by a recognized name-brand manufacturer. These are the IMR (Li-Ion) and hybrid batteries listed in the below link. Find these at RTD Vapor Batteries:

Trustfire, Surefire, and Ultrafire are not considered to be recognized quality batteries, at least not for APV usage. I can speak from personal experience on that (see the below pic of the battery which exploded in my mechanical mod). The Trustfire charger is a bottom of the barrel cheap charger that I'd never consider using myself. A Pila, Xtar, or Nitecore Intellicharger is what is recommended for APV batteries. Those are the same bats I've been using with my Cool Fire II and I've had no issues. Only thing is I have flat tops not button tops. I think I read somewhere that the button tops fit pretty tight in the Cool Fire making it harder to screw on the bottom cap.

AW's are faked all over the place. You have to buy them from a reputable supplier to know you are getting real AW batteries. If they are on eBay or Amazon that guarantees they are fakes. I get mine from RTD Vapor - registered ECF supplier with a good reputation.
